KTM 390 Adventure X 'Plus' Now At Dealership: What's New?

KTM is on the cusp of an important update to its 390 Adventure X series in India, with the refreshed model already making its way to dealerships nationwide. A unit recently spotted at a Pune dealership strongly indicates an imminent launch, expected as early as this week. While earlier reports suggested the name '390 Adventure X Plus,' live images from dealerships show the bike might simply retain the 'X' moniker, a detail that will be officially confirmed upon its debut. Visually, the new iteration largely maintains its existing paint schemes, ensuring the familiar KTM aesthetic.

However, the significant changes are found beneath the surface. The 2025 model receives updated switchgear, directly from the standard 390 Adventure, now including a dedicated cruise control switch. Crucially, the biggest highlight is the incorporation of advanced IMU-based electronic features. This means riders will benefit from the enhanced safety of Cornering ABS and switchable Cornering Traction Control. Furthermore, KTM is introducing three dedicated ride modes, Street, Rain, and Off-Road, providing riders with greater adaptability across diverse riding conditions, mirroring the capabilities of the more premium standard model.

Powertrain

Mechanically, the core remains unchanged, utilizing the same engine and riding on a familiar setup of 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels. The 390 Adventure X Plus will be propelled by the familiar 399cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine delivering 45.3bhp at 8500rpm and 39Nm of peak torque at 6500rpm, continue to be managed by a smooth 6-speed gearbox
The new 390 Adventure X is anticipated to be priced approximately Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 15,000 higher than the model it replaces, strategically targeting riders who desire advanced electronic rider aids without the full financial commitment of the standard top-spec 390 Adventure.
