In partnership, Hero MotoCorp and Harley Davidson developed a couple of products, and the latest product is the Harley X440 in the country, and last year, we witnessed the launch of the X440T. The duo now seems ready to add a third motorcycle to the 440 family, which is called the Sprint 440. It is a cruiser motorcycle meant to completely rival the Royal Enfield's Meteor 350 with its American-styled looks, a bigger engine, and more tech.
Production
After several teasers, now it's the right time to have shots to suggest the product development with these two big automobile markers. The posted picture appears to be from the production line-up suggesting that the launch isn’t far from us.
Design - Built for Relaxed Riding
Compared to the X440 Roadster, the spirit 440 is designed for a more laid-back posture. It gets raised handlebars and forward-set foot pegs, which should make your long riding easy. The wheelbase of Sprint 440 is more than the X440 roadster. The seat is scooped for adding more support to riders and shares the same frame as X440’s uses.
The styling is distinctly cruiser. It has a teardrop fuel tank with black appliques running along its length and around the filler cap, more chrome on the engine, and a new pointed exhaust with a chrome heat shield. The heel plate is finished in silver, and the bronze elements seen on the X440T are missing. Circular LED lighting at the front and for the blinkers completes the look.
Engine and Powertrains
The Sprint 440 will likely use the same 40cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine as X440. It makes 27 bhp and 38 Nm, and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Hero and Harley have not confirmed any changes, so any tuning differences will only become clear at launch.
Features and Hardware
The Sprint 440 appears to carry over the portrait-style TFT instrument cluster from the X440. On the hardware side, it gets USD front forks and gas-charged twin rear shock absorbers, with disc brakes at both ends and dual-channel ABS. It is likely to run alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, measuring 18 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear. The motorcycles in the spy shots came in Black, Grey and Blue.
Rivals and What to Expect
The Sprint 440 is aimed at the Royal Enfield Meteor 350, and it will try to stand out with a larger engine, a TFT display and Harley-branded cruiser styling. Pricing has not been revealed, and it will be a key factor. If production is truly underway, the Sprint 440 could be launched very soon, so stay tuned for the official specifications and price.
