Smart key features in scooters replace the traditional metal key with an electronic fob or proximity sensor. Meanwhile, these smart keys include various features such as keyless ignition start, smart unlock/access, find my vehicle, anti-theft theft and much more.
Honda Activa 110 H Smart

The Honda Activa 110 is one of the most popular scooters in the Indian market. It comes at a starting price of Rs 81,045 (ex-showroom) for the standard variant and goes up to Rs 95,567 (ex-showroom) for the Smart variant. The Honda Activa's H Smart variant offers a smart key that gives various features including Smartfind, Smartunlock, Smartstart and Smartsafe. Moreover, this scooter comes equipped with a TFT display that offers various connectivity features through the Honda Sync App. Well, not just this, it is powered by a 109.51cc engine which belts out 8 PS of power and 9.05 Nm of torque.
Honda Activa 125

The Honda Activa 125 is the elder sibling of the Activa 110. The difference lies in styling cues and the engine, which is powered by a 123.92cc engine that belts out 8.4 PS of power and 10.5 Nm of torque. This one comes in two variants: H Smart and DLX, priced at Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 96,270 (ex-showroom). However, similar to the younger sibling, this one also comes with a smart key along with the same set of features.
Yamaha Aerox 155

The Yamaha Aero 155 was India's only motoscooter when it was launched back in 2023. This scooter blends the Yamaha R series performance DNA along with the practicality of a scooter. Basically, this scooter comes in two variants: standard and S version. The S version happens to be more futuristic with a smart key access instead of a traditional metal key. This key offers a bit more convenience as you can directly switch it on by just moving the nob. Meanwhile, similar to the other keys, this smart key offers various features such as blinking lights, a buzzer for locating the scooter, and an anti-theft function. Notably, the S version is priced at Rs 1.41 lakh (ex-showroom) while the standard version comes at a price tag of Rs 1.38 lakh (ex-showroom).
Hero Xoom 160

Hero has launched their Xoom 160 this year, back in January at the Auto Expo 2025. Moreover, the Hero Xoom 160 is available at a price tag of Rs 1.48 lakh (ex-showroom). The Xoom comes loaded with plenty of modern-day features, including the smart key, TFT cluster, along Bluetooth connectivity. So, the Xoom 160's smart key allows the rider to remotely start the engine, unlock the seat and find their scooter in a parking lot.

Verdict
Given the demand for small urban cars and improving EV infrastructure, there is good scope for new models under the Rs 10 lakh bracket. The Leapmotor T03 might not be the most striking EV, but it ticks all the right boxes as a solution for urban mobility.
