Maruti Suzuki Brezza LXI Turbo vs Fronx Delta Plus: The Rs 1.52 Lakh Difference
The Maruti Suzuki Brezza has received a lifecycle update, and the biggest change is the arrival of the 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine, which was previously exclusive to the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. The interesting part is that Maruti has tuned this unit to produce more power and torque in the Brezza than it does in the Fronx. The most unexpected and attractive point is that the Brezza starts at Rs 7.39 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Fronx begins at Rs 8.91 lakh (ex-showroom).
The question now is which of the two to pick. For this comparison, we'll be looking at the base variants of each, and weighing which one has the edge, especially since the Brezza has just been updated.
1.0L Booster Jet Engine
For those who don't know, this 1.0-litre turbo engine was first introduced with the Baleno RS in 2017. The car was well received by enthusiasts, but the masses ignored it, as they were satisfied with the standard Baleno. So, the RS was discontinued in 2020. The Fronx then launched in 2023, and the engine returned here in fewer variants, with more emphasis given to the 1.2-litre and its CNG counterpart.

Now, Maruti has given the Brezza its first-ever facelift since its 2022 launch, adding this engine with more power and torque, but only with a 6-speed manual gearbox. So only buyers who understand the appeal of a turbo will go for it. The interesting bit is how the pricing is structured to make this engine more attractive: it starts at Rs 7.39 lakh (ex-showroom), whereas the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated Brezza starts at Rs 8.29 lakh for the base trim. The messaging is clear: Maruti Suzuki is pushing this powertrain.

Another interesting bit here is that the Brezza is built on the Suzuki Global-C platform, while the Fronx's underpinnings are the Heartect platform. One is a compact SUV with more road presence, and the other is essentially a crossover version of the Baleno. Now, let's see how their engine tunings differ.
1.0L Turbo | Brezza | Fronx |
|---|---|---|
Power | 110 PS | 100 PS |
Torque | 170 Nm | 147.6 Nm |
Gearbox | 6-MT | 5-MT/6-AT |
Claimed Fuel Efficiency | 20.47 km/l | 21.5 km/l / 20.01 km/l |
Difference is drastic when it comes to torque figures but power has recieved a minimal upgrade. But that said, the Brezza will feel much punchier and fast as it has 170 Nm of toruqe, which is available right from 2000 RPM-3500 RPM. Also, only 6-speed manual is there, which makes things more enthusiastic friendly. Now, comparing, fuel-efficiency this is also somewhat similar, and doesn't become a differiantor.
Features Comparison

The Brezza LXi Turbo and Fronx Delta+ have a price difference of Rs 1.52 lakh, but there isn't much unique on offer to justify it. Infotainment shows the gap fastest. Brezza's turbo trim skips the touchscreen entirely, with no connected features, no Bluetooth entry, and no speaker count worth mentioning. Fronx Delta+, meanwhile, gets a 7-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and CarPlay, an onboard voice assistant, and OTA updates.
Safety, however, lines up more evenly. Both offer Hill Hold Assist, ISOFIX mounts, and their respective airbag counts. Neither gets a rear camera or parking sensors with a display at this trim.

On convenience, Fronx pulls ahead again. It adds a smart key with push-start, steering-mounted controls, and split rear seats, none of which feature on Brezza LXi Turbo. Brezza does offer a height-adjustable driver seat and auto climate control, but only as turbo-specific additions over its own base LXi, not signs of a well-loaded trim overall.
Exteriors, in contrast, are closer. Both use similar cladding and roof garnishes, though Fronx edges ahead with LED headlamps and tail lamps, while Brezza sticks to projector halogens and a turbo badge.
Overall, then, Fronx Delta+ carries more kit for similar money. Brezza's case rests almost entirely on its engine and fuel efficiency, not this feature sheet.
Verdict
The price difference between the two cars' base trims is Rs 1.52 lakh, which is a substantial amount for these cars and their target audience. So, when Maruti Suzuki offers a more powerful engine, a 6-speed manual, a 5-star Bharat NCAP-rated car, and an overall bigger car for less, it's a no-brainer. In every possible way, it's a direct win for the Brezza. It's also available through Arena showrooms, making it a better deal overall.
