The Maruti Fronx strong hybrid has been spotted testing in India, hinting at the arrival of a new high-efficiency hybrid powertrain aimed at delivering mileage figures of over 30-35 kmpl. It is expected to use a series hybrid setup with a 1.2-litre petrol engine acting as a generator, potentially making it one of the most fuel-efficient cars in the country.

The Maruti Fronx has been spotted testing with an ADAS module, indicating that the brand is working on introducing advanced safety tech on the model. However, it remains unclear whether this update is meant for India or export markets, as Maruti is still developing ADAS systems tailored for Indian conditions.

The India-made Maruti Fronx has scored a 4-star safety rating in Japan NCAP crash tests, achieving an overall score of around 84% (163.75/193.8 points). However, the tested model features additional safety tech like ADAS and AWD, equipment not available on the India-spec version, so the rating may not directly apply to cars sold here.

The Maruti Fronx has received a price hike of up to around Rs 5,500 across select variants, while most other trims see a smaller increase of about ?500. Following the revision, prices now start from around Rs 7.52 lakh (ex-showroom), with no changes to features or powertrain.
