The Indian EV startup, Ultraviolette, has made the headlines once again with the launch of its X47 Crossover at Rs 2.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Pricing And Battery

Let's start with some basics. The Ultraviolette X47 is launched at an introductory price of Rs 2.49 lakh (ex-showroom), which will be Rs 2.74 lakh (ex-showroom) thereafter. However, when it comes to battery packs, it gives you an option to choose between a 7.1 kWh battery pack and a 10.3 kWh battery pack. However, they can run up to a claimed range of 211km and 323km, respectively.

Radar-Based ADAS (UV Hypersense)

The standout feature of the X47 is the radar-based ADAS, named UV Hypersense, which uses a 77GHz long-range rear radar to monitor the traffic behind up to 200 meters. It typically detects vehicles in blind spots and gives an alert for safer lane changes and overtakes. This is the first Indian motorcycle to bring car-like safety features into the two-wheeler space. This UV Hypersense feature suite includes blind spot monitoring, lane change assist, overtaking alert and rear collision warning.

Parallel Boost Charging

The Unlatraviolette X47 introduces a parallel boost charging, basically a system that allows onboard chargers to work simultaneously with auxiliary chargers. So, this means that the rider can plug multiple chargers and drastically reduce the charging time. It is a useful feature for long distance distance commutes and between top-ups.

Integrated Dashcam

The Ultraviolette X47 comes equipped with a dual camera, one mounted in front and another at the back, paired with a dedicated second display for cameras only. These dashcams continuously record while riding, storing footage that can be useful for vlogging, documenting road trips, or even as evidence in case of accidents.

Dual Displays

The Ultraviolette X47 comes equipped with dual displays, setting it apart from other motorcycles in the segment. The main 5-inch TFT cluster displays conventional ride data like speed, battery percentage, range, and navigation. Complementing it is a secondary display with 32GB of storage dedicated to dual dashcams, one at the front and the other at the rear.

Notably, the secondary display is not a standard feature; it comes as an official accessory with the bike.

9 Levels Of Regenerative Braking

The Ultraviolette X47 offers nine levels of regenerative braking, giving riders full control of how aggressively the bike slows down and recovers energy. At higher levels of regen, it acts like engine braking in ICE bikes, ideal for city traffic, downhills, while lower regen levels provide a free coasting feel on highways, cruising.

• The Ola Roadster X comes with adjustable regen braking, however, the brand has not specfied the levels of regen braking.

3 Levels Of Traction Control

The X47 comes equipped with three levels of traction control, allowing riders to tailor grip according to their needs. In rain or gravel, higher traction control prevents wheel spin for safety, while in sportier settings, reduced intervention allows for more aggressive riding.

• The Ola Roadster Pro and X+ offer a traction control system, but unlike the X47, it does not have levels.
