Honda re-introduced the CB300R in the Indian market, but this time, in a BS6 avatar. While the bike remains almost similar, you will easily notice many changes that give it a fresh touch. Having said this, the CB300R is currently one of the most affordable sports offerings and gives tough competition to its rivals. Here is a quick Honda CB300R BS6 first look review that will help you know more about the bike.
The CB300R boasts a compact and attractive neo cafe racer styling that not only looks great but also gives it a strong and unique character. The short wheelbase and a light kerb weight additionally make the bike light on its feet, thus making it a great choice not only for long-distance travel but also for the everyday city commute. Needless to say, fit-finish levels are great and so are the quality levels.
Powering the Honda CB300R is a BS6 complaint 286 cc liquid-cooled, 4 stroke petrol engine that churns out 31 PS and 27.5 Nm of maximum torque. A 6-speed slick-shifting manual gearbox comes mated to this engine and the clutch too is easy and light to operate. The refinement levels are impressive and soo is the performance. In all, the Honda CB300R definitely has an edge over many of the rivals, all thanks to its supreme powertrain.
The CB300R gets USD forks at the front while a 7-step adjustable mono-shock suspension setup is available at the rear. For starters, the CB300R feels extremely light and agile to use while the shorter wheelbase further helps in improving the handling. While the suspension is slightly on the stiffer side, you will definitely appreciate the highway riding experience. With this being said, the high-speed stability is great and the seats too offer decent support, thus making the bike suitable for long hour travel.
With a starting price of INR 2.77 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Honda CB300R may not be very affordable or VFM, but does manage to offer a premium package to the buyers who are looking for a peppy and aggressive cafe racer.
