Should I buy the G 310 R?
BMW G310 R is made for buyers looking for a premium bike with a high brand value. It offers the BMW brand name at a relatively affordable rate. Also, the comfortable riding position and feature-loaded equipment list help with the ease of city riding. Moreover, the bike is fun to ride due to its powerful engine and agile handling. However, the vibrations from the engine and costly maintenance are a big deal breaker.
- BMW G310 R has been designed in a very subtle manner. Despite being a naked sports bike, its design language and road presence are soothing. The colour combinations and graphics help in attracting eyeballs on the road. It doesn’t come with a sharp design but has enough juice to pull young buyers.
- The riding triangle and comfort on the BMW G310 R are well balanced. The position of the handlebar and footpegs are set up for sporty riding but they also offer good comfort for city riding. The seat cushioning is something that could have been better to offer more support to the rider.

- BMW G310 R uses a 313cc single-cylinder liquid–cooled engine that was developed with TVS. This motor offers good performance for both city as well as highway riding. At low rpm this engine feels sluggish but past 3,000 rpm it has a good torquey mid-range. However, the top-end rev range has vibrations that kill the riding pleasure of it.
- The chassis balance and handling combo on the BMW G310 R is very well-tuned for the road. It is a super agile bike to ride inside the city. On the highway, it offers good straight line stability. Also, around the corners, the chassis offers confidence-inspiring handling to the rider.

- BMW offers a USD front and a preload adjustable rear monoshock suspension on the G310 R. It works like a charm on the tarmac. Most of the undulations are well absorbed by it. However, sharp potholes and bumps can be felt on the handlebar. Overall, the riding comfort is decent and it remains pliant in most circumstances.
- The braking performance of the G310 R is definitely one of the best in the segment. It offers a strong bite even with the slightest brake input. Moreover, under emergency braking, the bike remains in a straight line and stops very quickly; enticing confidence in the rider.
- BMW has equipped the G310 R with all modern bells and whistles. It gets LED lights and a digital instrument console. It also has Bluetooth for smartphones, riding modes, and ride-by-wire tech. And much more. All of these features make it a well-loaded bike in the segment.
- BMW ensures rider safety. They do this by providing a slipper-assist clutch. They also include dual-channel ABS as standard features on the G310 R. Also, the traction control system reduces the chances of falls on challenging roads.
