Aprilia SR 175 is essentially an SR 160 with a bigger engine. Launched in July 2025, Aprilia didn't create any announcement for it, nor did they run any social media campaign; instead, they quietly introduced it at Rs 1.26 lakh (ex-showroom). Despite this, there is still much ambiguity surrounding this scooter. In this article, we'll explore its top features and see if its rivals have anything better to offer. 2025 Aprilia SR 175
5-inch TFT Display

The biggest visible difference between the SR 175 and SR 160 is the introduction of a new 5-inch TFT display, which we have seen in the Aprilia RS 457 and Tuono 457. Once the rider connects their smartphone via Bluetooth, they can get instant access to music, calls, and navigation, all at their fingertips. Moreover, the graphics on this screen are in high definition.
Variants Availalbe:
The SR 175 doesn't have multiple variants; it only comes in a single trim.
Competitors With Same Feature:
- Yamaha Aerox - This sporty scooter from Yamaha is equipped with a digital LCD screen, and it too gets the wireless connectivity features, which all happen through the Y-Connect App. However, the difference between this and the one on Aprilia is huge, as that one is a TFT display.
- Hero Xoom 160 - This flagship maxi scooter from Hero also comes with a digital tachometer that shows the Turn-by-Turn navigation features.
USB Socket

This sports scooter also caters to daily usability needs, such as an underseat light and a USB port, which allows the rider to charge their phone on the go. If anything shows up on the phone, it will be notified via the 5-inch TFT display. Moreover, Aprilia has done some cost-cutting here, as modern phones come with Type-C cables, and most people already have that specific wire. So, buyers of this scooter will need to purchase a new wire.
Competitors With Same Feature:
- Yamaha Aerox 155 - Yes, the Aerox 155 comes with dual USB socket which is situated in the front pocket.
- Hero Xoom 160 - Even Xoom 160 misses out on this feature.
Single Channel ABS

This was also present in the SR 160, and it continues in the SR 175. The front 14-inch all-terrain tyres feature a 220 mm disc brake with hydraulic control, assisted by ABS, while the rear wheel gets 14-inch drum brakes. Moreover, the alloys are painted in a bright orange color, which is standard on both color options.
Competitors With Same Feature:
- Yamaha Aerox 155 -This Japanese scooter is equipped with a 230 mm front disc brake with ABS.
- Hero Xoom 160 - This Indian maxi scooter also offers single-channel ABS.
Features Missing in Aprilia SR 175:
- Smart Key - All of its rivals are offering a smart key, a premium feature that allows you to start the scooter or access the boot space just through a knob at the center. This feature was usually seen in high-end two-wheelers, but now Yamaha and Hero are offering it in their maxi scooters.
- Halogen Turn indicators - Even in 2025, Aprilia is using halogen lights for the turn indicators on both sides. They do a good job when it comes to brightness but don't match the aesthetics of this premium scooter.
- No ABS at Rear - The power figures of the SR 175 are 12.9 hp and 14.14 Nm of torque. Now, we haven't tested this scooter yet, but we had a great experience with the SR 160, and that is a mad machine. After riding that, we couldn't fathom the fact that a scooter could be that aggressive. Now, Aprilia has upgraded the engine to a bigger one, so we have a rough idea of how it would perform. We believe this scooter should feature rear ABS as well. Why not take the athletic experience to the next level, along with the mechanical components?
Other Notable featueres:

- LED headlight and tail-light
- Two colour options - White and Black

Verdict
Aprilia SR 175 is a top-notch performance scooter with the same body as the SR 160. Launched without making any fuss, but we can still hear the sound of its engine in our heads. To add more, the SR brand is getting stronger day by day, and this is, without a doubt, the performance scooter you can buy to experience Italian engineering at the most attractive price.
