With the TVS Orbiter, the Hosur-based manufacturer finally has another electric scooter in its lineup that is not an iQube. The Orbiter comes across as a more affordable option for those who have been wanting to switch to an electric scooter on a tight budget, but they do not want to be seen on a low-cost Chinese product.

TVS Orbiter Key Features - Riding Aids
The Orbiter comes equipped with a lot of tech for an affordable electric scooter. These include cruise control and two ride modes, eco and power, to help meet rider needs. Along with this, the Orbiter also comes with hill-hold assist, and reverse mode.
TVS Orbiter Key Features - Safety Tech
In terms of safety, the Orbiter comes equipped with things like crash alerts, fall alerts, anti-theft alerts, geo-fencing, time-fencing, and even tow alerts. All these features are available as standard, as the Orbiter is available in only one variant.
TVS Orbiter Key Features -Connectivity
The Orbiter gets a colour LCD instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity via the SmartXonnect suite, which enables things such as turn-by-turn navigation, incoming call and SMS alerts. What remains to be seen is if TVS has finally resolved the issue which causes navigation to not operate unless the connected device stays turned on.
There is also a USB charging port for your smartphone, in case your smartphone is running low, and additionally there is also a lockable glovebox.
TVS Orbiter Key Features - 14-inch Front Wheel
Similar to the River Indie, the TVS Orbiter comes with a larger 14-inch front wheel, along with a smaller 12-inch wheel at the rear. We are set to ride the scooter sometime soon, and given from what we have seen on the iQube, we can expect a similar kind of plush and comfortable ride quality.
Powertrain Details
Powering the Orbiter is a hub-mounted electric motor, and while the power and torque specs remain unspecified for now, the battery is a 3.1kWh unit. TVS has not mentioned any charging times either, but the Orbiter comes with a claimed range of 158km on a single charge. Given the Orbiter's practical approach, we can expect it to cover about 110km in the real world.
Verdict
The Orbiter comes equipped with plenty of things not commonly seen in this segment. What remains to be seen is how it comes together as an overall package; something that we shall be answering soon.
