1. Advanced Digital Instrument Cluster

The Mahindra Bolero, for quite some time, has been offering a fully digital instrument cluster, which by this SUV's nature, is a big-time upgrade. Interestingly, it has been offering this when digital clusters weren't common and this added a unique touch to the SUV. Plus, the cluster looked very nice in the nighttime.
Variant Available: Base B4 Variant onwards
Competition Check:
- The Bolero Neo doesn't offer any digital instrument cluster
- The Scorpio Classic misses out on a digital cluster, too.
2. Dual Airbags
Base B4 Variant onwards- Rs. 9.79 lakhs

Mahindra Bolero, even in its top-spec trim, offers just a dual airbag set-up, which is according to recent times, a very basic safety feature. This could have been done to keep the costs in check, but we expect it to offer a little more in terms of this cushioned safety tech. However, the dual airbags are standard across all variants.
Variant Available: Avaiable as standard across variants.
Competition Check- Notably, both the Mahindra Scorpio Classic and the Bolero Neo also offer just a dual airbag setup. This stands true for their top-spec variants as well, which feels a bit underwhelming, considering the status that Mahindra has achieved over the years of focusing more on safety.
3. All Power Windows
The mid-spec B6 variant onwards, the Bolero comes with all power windows which is a convenient feature that finds its usage in daily life. However, with the base trim, you only get front-powered windows.
Variant Available: It is available from the BS6 trim onwards.
Competition Check- The Bolero Neo and the Scorpio Classic both come with power windows as standard across variants.
4. Micro Hybrid Technology

The Mahindra Bolero incorporated a Micro-hybrid tech that aids in a more fuel-efficient drive, helping in better fuel economy. When the car comes to a halt and the driver releases the clutch after shifting it to neutral, it shuts off the engine to save fuel. As soon as the driver presses the clutch to go off, the engine is automatically restarted, saving fuel at stops across the travel.
Variant Available: Standard Across variants.
Competition Check- The Bolero Neo and the Scorpio Classic come with this micro-hybrid tech as standard across their variants.

5. Rear Wiper And Washer

The top-spec trim comes with a rear wiper with a washer function, which is an essential feature that helps clear the rear view field of the driver without having to stop and exit the vehicle to wipe the rear windshield off.
Variant Available: Available in top-spec B6(O) trim onwards.
Competition Check:
- The Bolero Neo, in its N8 variant onwards, offers a rear wiper with a defogger, but misses out on the washer function.
- The Scorpio Classic offers the exact same functionality as the Bolero Classic but with superior aeroblade wipers in its S11 variant.
Missing Features That Could Have Been Offered In This Price Segment
- 6 Airbags as standard: This is something that Mahindra should now make as standard with the Bolero, Bolero Neo, as well as the Scorpio, to really live upto its stature of a safer vehicle manufacturer.
- Infotainment Screen: As rugged and bare bones the SUV maybe, its 2025 and there should've been a basic touchscreen infotainment unit by now.
- Reverse Parking Camera: Again a very basic miss that is now an almost essential part of the safety suite. Both the Bolero Neo and the Scorpio Classic offer a reverse camera.

Verdict
The Bolero is an SUV that doesn't have a lot of tech riding on its back, and that sits perfectly fine with its loyal customer base. It has been kept to just functional, which if a silver lining has to be drawn, offers less complications and easy maintenence. But it does well what it is intended to do, which is a rugged workhorse that takes on everything that comes its way.
