Skoda Slavia Old vs New, What Changed?

Skoda Slavia Old vs New, What Changed?

The Skoda Slavia has received its first mid-life facelift, aimed at freshening up its appeal to match the rhythm of the modern sedan. While the pre-facelift Slavia is known for its clean and timeless design and solid driving dynamics, the facelift is built on the same foundation. However, there are noticeable changes visible on the exterior and interior. Let's deep dive and check out the difference between the old and new Slavia.

Design

The front design of the facelifted Slavia is minimal yet impactful. The signature grille remains the same; however, this time Skoda has integrated a chrome line running throughout the grille. This slight change has made the overall look of the sedan more premium and posh.

The headlamp setup still remains the same; even the shape of the headlamps is unchanged, but they do give a feel of blacked-out housing. The timeless design still holds the road presence of this sedan. Moreover, the black-coloured Monte Carlo edition is something which deserves a real stare with a pause.

In side profile, the Slavia's overall silhouette stays largely familiar, and that works in its favour. The confident shoulder line, sculpted wheel arches, and well-balanced proportions carry over from the outgoing model, with no major departure in design language. The dimensions, too, remain unchanged, and the Slavia continues to hold its own as one of the best sedans in its segment.

The facelift sticks with the same alloy wheel sizes but introduces a fresh design for them. A notable upgrade over the pre-facelift model is that alloys are now offered right from the base variant, rather than being reserved for higher trims. Skoda has offered rear disc brakes with the 1.5 L engine, and the colour of the brake calipers is red. Skoda badging on the front fender and chrome accents around the windows add a touch of extra polish.

Rear

The rear design of the Slavia looks noticeably changed with the integration of the rear diffuser. However, the design of the lamps remains unchanged, though the blacked-out housing makes it look more attractive. Skoda is yet to introduce connected tail-lamps, unlike Hyundai and Honda.

Interior

Step inside, and the cabin feels reassuringly familiar. The 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system stays centrally mounted, but now runs on upgraded software for a smoother experience. Skoda has tweaked the ambient lighting, too, now offering two colour options instead of the single white theme from before. The Monte Carlo gets red ambient lights.

The 2-spoke steering wheel carries over unchanged on the Slavia, and it remains a highlight, genuinely one of the best-looking wheels in its segment. That said, the facelifted Slavia still doesn't get soft-touch materials on the dashboard or physical controls for the infotainment.

On the plus side, Skoda has improved the air conditioning with a new compressor in the cabin. The storage also remains generous throughout, and adjustable headrests are still offered for both front and rear occupants.

Features

Skoda has added a fair number of new features to sweeten the comfort and convenience quotient. Leading the update is a new 10.25-inch digital driver display, which now also doubles up to show turn-by-turn navigation. The infotainment screen retains its size but comes with updated software, now paired with a Google-powered AI assistant. The Slavia has finally gained a 360-degree camera and front parking sensors. The standout, though, is a segment-first massage function for the rear passengers, a feature you'd typically expect in far pricier luxury cars.

Features carried forward from the outgoing model include automatic climate control, a cooled glovebox, wireless phone charging, a 6-speaker audio setup, cruise control, an auto-dimming IRVM, and automatic headlamps.

On the safety front, the Slavia continues with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill-hold assist, ABS with EBD, a reverse parking camera, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Powertrain

The Slavia facelift comes with a new 8-speed automatic transmission over the pre-facelift model. Apart from this, there are no changes to the powertrain of the sedan. It continues to be offered with the same 1-litre and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines.

Quick specifications:

1.5-litre turbo-petrol

Colour Options

There are a total of 10 colour options for the Slavia this time. Skoda has introduced two new colours in the line — Cappuccino Beige and Arctic Silver. The layered dashboard design carries over from before; with the update, the Monte Carlo edition has black colouring with red stitches on the seats, whereas other trims follow beige.

End Note

2026 Skoda Slavia Facelift: WHAT’S CHANGED?

The new 2026 Skoda Slavia facelift sticks to a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach. Design changes are subtle, but the interior and features get meaningful upgrades, bigger driver display, 360-degree camera, and a segment-first rear massage function. With sharper pricing and an 8-speed automatic, the Slavia strengthens its case as one of the segment's most complete, value-packed sedans.
