First, there's a 1.5-liter regular engine that works with either a 6-speed stick shift or an automatic that can vary the speed (IVT/CVT). The second option is a fancier 1.5-liter turbo engine that you can pair with a 6-speed stick shift or a 7-speed automatic (DCT). The regular engine makes 115 PS and 143.8 Nm torque, while the turbo engine is more powerful, making 160 PS and 253 Nm of torque.

Improved Ride & Handling As Compared To the Previous Gen 9

• Compared to its earlier models, the 2023 Verna shows noticeable improvements in how it rides. The suspension has been adjusted to provide a more comfortable experience for both the driver and passengers. It does a good job absorbing most bumps and uneven road surfaces at lower speeds, resulting in a smoother ride. However, at higher speeds, the car can feel a bit bouncy when going over joints on flyovers, which may disappoint those looking for a consistently smooth ride.
• In terms of handling, it's important to mention that the steering feels very light and lacks a sense of confidence at higher speeds. Nevertheless, this light steering is beneficial for maneuvering through city traffic and parking. Although the drive modes do add a bit of weight to the steering, the impact is so minimal that it might not be easily noticed.
