Now, onto what can we expect from its facelift and what these spy-shot's picture says. Hyundai Verna Facelift

This photo of the totally camouflaged Hyundai Verna showcases its rear profile, and at first glance, nothing different is outrightly visible. However, upon closer inspection, the rear bumper appears to feature a new design, most likely a sliver skid plate. Apart from this, nothing new is noticeable or worth mentioning. It still retains the same set of connected LED DRLs with LED tail lights and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

These spy shots suggest that the facelift will bring subtle changes to the exterior, mainly to refresh the 4th generation of Verna. We can also expect some new feature additions, such as a new-age interior theme, updated seat covers, and more safety features in its ADAS suite. From a powertrain point of view, everything will remain the same, a 1.5L Na petrol with 6-speed manual and iVT, and a 1.5L turbo petrol with 6-speed manual and 7-DCT.

Hyundai Verna is a popular name in India, and falls under the C-segment sedan category, competing with the Honda City, Volkswagen Virtus and Skoda Slavia. Among these, it currently ranks third in monthly sales, mainly because Indian customers have largely shifted their preference towards SUVs, leading to a massive decline in sedan sales. Now, we believe Hyundai will bring this facelift around September or October, marking the beginning of the festive period in the country.

Verdict
The 4th-generation Verna hasn't been well received by Indian customers, even though it offers a significantly better ride experience than its predecessor. The main reason behind this lukewarm response is its radical design. Families have frowned at it, youngsters have dismissed it, and even auto experts seem hesitant to comment on its looks. Now, all eyes are on the upcoming facelift to see what changes Hyundai brings to the table. While it won't be a completely new product, Hyundai will likely focus on refining its aesthetics to win back customer interest.
