Honda Civic Type R

After seeing the positive response the Volkswagen Golf GTI received, Honda might have gained the confidence to finally bring its world-famous street sports car to India. The Honda Civic Type R - is a hot hatch that can fool us with its long-slung rear profile and massive spoiler, but make no mistake, it's a proper hatchback at heart. Also, it's wider and lower compared to the traditional Honda Civic sedan. What truly makes it special, though, lies under the hood - a 2.0L turbocharged Inline - 4 cylinder petrol engine making 315 hp and 310 Nm of torque, with a 6-speed manual. Yes, the Civic Type R proudly sticks to a manual transmission, making it one of the purest driver's cars out there.
Specification

On March 24, 2023, at Nurburgring Nordschleife, set the new fastest front wheel drive, clocking 7 minutes and 44.881 seconds. Additionally, it has a dual-axis front suspension and multi-link rear suspension, along with an adaptive damper system that can be adjusted up to 4 levels. For superior braking performance, Honda adds Brembo brake callipers with 13.8-inch two front rotors. Lastly, Civic Type R features Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tyres - 265 mm profile, and a triple outlet exhaust system for all those voices that bless our ears.
Interior

Quickly talking about the interior - it's a four-seater car with heavily bolstered sports front seats finished in a screaming red colour that sets the tone right. The dashboard is flat and minimalistic, featuring a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen, and its driver display is digital. The floor mats in this car are also made of red colour, which is the most unusual thing you'll ever see in a car.

Now, this car starts at $45,895 in the United States, which roughly translates to almost Rs 40 lakh here. Without a doubt, it will be brought here via the CBU route, so it will easily cost Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom) or more. Let's see when the launch happens.
Verdict
If this is happening any time soon, this is the best decision Honda has taken in recent years. Why? Honda has badly lost the game in the Indian automotive sector despite providing class apart reliable cars with great engines and everything. All that is happening because it's no longer a desirable brand, and none of their cars are on people's radar. It's shocking as in the 2000s and 2010s, owning a Honda was a status symbol - it meant you were a successful person who wanted premium quality over affordability. Launching the Civic Type R can bring back those glorious days as this car is very popular and has the potential to get fully sold, just like the VW Golf GTI did.
