Hyundai Verna SX+ Trim Launched- What's New?

Hyundai has expanded the Verna lineup with the introduction of a new SX+ variant, priced at Rs. 13.79 lakh for the manual and Rs. 15.04 lakh for the IVT (ex-showroom). The SX+ MT slots just above the base EX trim, while the IVT version sits between the SX and SX(O). Positioned as a more feature-rich offering, the SX+ adds premium touches like leather seats, front ventilated and heated seats, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, LED headlamps, and front parking sensors, while carrying forward all the equipment from lower variants. It continues to use the familiar 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine, which makes 113.4 bhp and 143.8 Nm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or IVT.

Alongside the launch of the new Verna SX+ variant, Hyundai Motor India has also rolled out a new Wired to Wireless Adapter, designed to bring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality to seven of its models, the Grand i10 NIOS, Exter, Verna, Aura, Venue, Venue N Line, and Alcazar. This new accessory underlines Hyundai's continued focus on improving in-car connectivity and digital convenience across its portfolio, offering a more seamless and tech-forward driving experience for its customers.

Hyundai Verna Engine Options

The Hyundai Verna comes with two distinct engine options. A 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, good for 113 bhp and 144 Nm of torque, can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT. For those seeking more thrills, a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine is also available, boosting output significantly to 158 bhp and 253 Nm of torque. This more potent engine is exclusively offered with a 7-speed DCT. While this spirited engine offers more power, don't expect a very high fuel economy from this one, which is something that performance-oriented buyers are generally not looking for anyway.
As for its pricing, it is as follows:
Variant | Price |
1.5 MPi MT SX+ | 13 79 300 |
1.5 MPi iVT SX+ | 15 04 300 |
Verdict
The Hyundai Verna is a pretty solid sedan in its class with a range of engine options, but is currently hotly contested by the German rivals. This new addition, along with the accessory add-on of a wired to wireless adapter for a range of Hyundai models, the brand is aiming to maximise customer comfort. Although the sedan does gets polarising opinions when it comes to looks, performance is something that is one of its its strongest suits.
