TVS Ntorq 150: TVS Motors India launched the all new Ntorq 150 yesterday. Prices for the bigger sibling of the Ntorq 125 starts at just Rs. 1.19 lakh. The new entrant lock its horns with the Hero Xoom 160 and Aerox 155 in our market, but at a much lower price tag.

Well, this article is about the variant analysis of the Xoom 160. So, let's come straight to point - the TVS Ntorq 150 arrives in two trims - Standard and TFT - that share the same engine, chassis and core sporty character, but diverge sharply in their display hardware and connected-tech depth. What's common

Both variants use the new 149.7cc, 3-valve, air-cooled single that produces 13.2 PS at 7,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm at 5,500 rpm, paired with a CVT for seamless drive. Performance claims are identical - 0-60 kmph in 6.3 seconds and a 104 km/h top speed - so the choice between variants does not change acceleration or power figures. Braking hardware comprises a 220 mm front disc and a 130 mm rear drum with single-channel ABS, while suspension is handled by a telescopic fork and rear coil spring with hydraulic dampers.

Dimensions and practicality are also shared, including a 5.8 litre tank, 22-litre underseat bay and a 2 litre front glovebox, with kerb weight at 115 kg and seat height at 770 mm.

Display and interface

TVS Ntorq 150

The Standard variant is built around a hybrid cluster - LCD augmented by a small TFT window - delivering a clean, functional layout with TVS SmartXonnect basics like turn-by-turn navigation, call and message alerts, music control and trip analytics via Bluetooth.

On the other hand, the TFT variant moves to a full 5-inch colour panel with a richer UI, day/night modes and a dedicated four-way navigation switch on the left switchgear for quicker, safer interaction while riding. Beyond aesthetics, the larger screen unlocks a broader canvas for maps, widgets and ride data, making everyday interactions feel closer to a premium motorcycle console.

Connected features and telematics

Both trims offer Bluetooth pairing and navigation, but the TFT trim layers in deeper app-enabled functionality and over-the-air update support to keep features fresh without workshop visits.

The TFT variant's spec sheets highlight traction control settings, smartwatch and Alexa integration, crash-alert functionality, geo-fencing-style vehicle location aids and a wider notification stack, creating a more expansive connected ecosystem than the Standard's essential SmartXonnect suite. That broader stack also future-proofs the top variant for iterative software gains, which is increasingly central to ownership value in tech-forward scooters.

Rider aids and riding modes

Ride modes - Street and Race - are standard across the range, tailoring throttle response and CVT behaviour for commuting efficiency or brisk bursts. ABS is single-channel on both, but the TFT variant is positioned with traction control availability in its equipment list, aligning with its premium electronics emphasis and expanded cluster controls. For riders toggling between wet commutes and weekend sprints, that extra layer of electronic stability can tip the scales toward the TFT.

Design, lighting and touchpoints

Styling is shared as well: an aggressive, winglet-equipped body, naked handlebar and a dual-projector LED headlamp establish the Ntorq 150's sportiest-in-family vibe. Adjustable brake levers, high-quality backlit switchgear and sporty muffler design appear across the lineup, while the TFT's four-way controller subtly elevates perceived quality at the rider's fingertips. The visual signature - LED DRLs, signature tail-lamp and sharp panel surfacing - remains consistent so the premium feel of the TFT is conveyed more through the interface than the exterior.

Everyday convenience

TVS Ntorq 150

Underseat USB charging, external fuel filling, an all-in-one lock and integrated engine kill switch address daily usability on both trims. With identical storage volumes and dimensions, practicality is a constant, so the decision boils down to whether the richer TFT interface and deeper connected features justify a higher outlay for the intended use case. Riders who value navigation clarity, app integrations and software upgradability will find the TFT's ownership experience meaningfully different, even as the scooter itself rides and performs the same as the Standard.

Verdict

For value seekers, the Standard variant delivers identical performance, the same chassis confidence and all essential connected features at the lowest entry price, making it the rational pick for everyday riders who want sportiness without the tech premium.

For tech-focused riders, the TFT variant's full-colour display, deeper telematics, traction control availability and OTA support transform the cockpit experience and future-proof the scooter, earning its premium if the console will be used intensively for navigation and app services.
