Velocifero, the Italian two-wheeler brand that recently entered India through Motohaus, has unveiled its first petrol-powered scooter for the market, the VLF Mobster 135. Positioned as a sporty alternative in the 125cc space (yes, 125 and not 135!), the Mobster 135 aims to stand out through its bold styling and premium features rather than blending in with the crowd. Here's a closer look at its design cues that surely set it apart from the competition in our first look review, but before that, make sure to join the 91wheels WhatsApp Community of avid petrolheads to never miss out on any latest news and automotive updates.

VLF Mobster 135: Front Design

The VLF Mobster 135 immediately sets itself apart with its aggressive front fascia. The scooter gets a twin-projector headlamp cluster mounted low on the dual-tone aggressive front apron, a design choice not very common in scooters in India. Above it sits a medium-sized windscreen, adding both functionality and visual drama. Integrated LED indicators further accentuate the sharp, modern appearance. The setup, with shades of superbike inspiration, a short front beak along with chunky all-terrain 12-inch tyre, gives the Mobster a face that looks far more performance-oriented than most scooters in this segment.
Side Profile

From the side, the Mobster 135 carries forward the styling philosophy with a muscular stance with angular, sharply cut body panels that emphasize its sporty intent. The scooter gets a single-piece seat, designed for both comfort and a distinctive profile. Split push-to-open pillion footrests and a step-up layered sculpted side panel design element in the center reinforce the street-bike influence, while the 12-inch alloys shod with wide tyres (120-section front and 130-section rear) provide a solid, planted look. The exposed handlebar setup also contributes to its rugged, street-oriented persona, but it's the longer tail that continues way beyond its split rear grab rails that offer a longer stance to the scooter.
Rear Design

At the back, the Mobster maintains its sharp aesthetic with a slim, split LED taillight that complements the aggressive front end. The design is clean yet purposeful, ensuring that the rear doesn't feel bulky. The inclusion of an extended rear mudguard, or the overhang, surely gives it a more adventurous look. Overall, the rear ties in well with the scooter's bold design language. This is a different take on a scooter design, it ventures somewhat into the maxi styling, a bid to resonate more with the younger audience.
Handlebar & Ergonomics

The wide, exposed handlebar gives the Mobster a motorcycle-like feel, offering better control and a sportier stance compared to conventional scooters. With a seat height of 797 mm and kerb weight of 122 kg, the scooter remains accessible to most riders, though it sits slightly higher than typical 125cc scooters. The 8-litre fuel tank, a segment-first, combined with a claimed mileage of around 46 km/l, adds genuine practicality to its stylish form. You also get some practical tweaks here and there, with a retractable luggage hook beneath the handlebar and also a storage compartment towards its left for your smartphone or other small stuff. The floorboard is dashed with dual-tone elements again, but it is not being fully flat might be an issue for some, but since it's not fully, a family scooter, and it does not even intend to, it's fine for most part.

Features & Console

Beyond its striking looks, the Mobster 135 brings a well-rounded feature list. At the center is a 5-inch full-colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation support, screen mirroring, and even a live dashcam function (optional). The console also includes a mileage indicator, keeping everyday usability in check. Other highlights include keyless ignition, illuminated switchgear that looks attractive in low light, USB charging, and all-LED lighting. On the safety front, the scooter packs dual-channel ABS and traction control, both switchable, a rarity in this category.
Engine: Nameplate Says 135 But Carries 125!

Powering the Mobster 135 is a 125cc (surprise, surprise), single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine tuned to deliver 12.1hp at 8,250rpm and 11.7Nm at 6,500rpm. This setup makes it the smallest-capacity scooter in India to feature liquid-cooling, a technology typically reserved for larger models. VLF states that the scooter can achieve a top speed of 100 km/h, which is pretty decent for what it offers.
Verdict
The Mobster 135 looks and feel different, but that's what works in its favour. Buyers today already have quite a few regular daily-life options which fits well into their never go wrong, traditional styling, and this is where the Mobster plays differently. It approaches the 125cc segment with style and also with plenty of substance. For me, I like how it breaks the shackles of safe play and tries to do something to stand out. Coming to the point of whether it could make a place for itself in the segment, well, by the end of this year, the brand plans to open 25 showrooms across the country, and if this expansion pace is kept up and running, the more people see it in their cities, the more comfortable will be the sell.
