Lamborghini Urus Detailed Review
The new Lamborghini Urus is a striking-looking SUV and it has a very imposing stance. The Urus takes its design inspiration from the heritage of the LM002 in regard to the power dome showing the position of the engine and the significant diagonal lines, while its frameless doors recall the iconic Marcello Gandini line. From the front, the Urus looks like a spaceship with its sharp aerodynamic nose. The front profile of the SUV looks very striking and there are multiple cuts and creases on its body. The Urus gets a sharp all-LED headlamp cluster along with LED DRLs. Moreover, it also has a large camera at the centre to give a bird’s eye view of the SUV.
Moving to the side profile, we can see the coupe-like design of the SUV and its massive wheels. The Lamborghini Urus gets massive 22-inch wheels as standard and one can also opt for large 23-inch wheels. Moreover, Lamborghini claims that the Urus has the largest brake diameter in the world seen on any production vehicle yet. The Urus looks astonishing from every angle and being an SUV, it even gets subtle body cladding all-around that give it a rough & tough appeal. At the rear, it gets a raked roof with a roof-mounted spoiler and features signature Y-shaped LED tail lights too. It also gets a large skid plate at the rear along with twin exhaust tips. The Lamborghini Urus is available in ten different colours. They are - Blu Astraeus, Nero Helene, Yellow, Giallo Auge, Bianco Monocerus, Nero Noctis, Rosso Mars, Blu Eleos, Green and Orange.
The new Lamborghini Urus measures 5112 mm in length, 2181 mm in width and 1638 mm in height. This super SUV has a wheelbase of 3003 mm and the Urus offers a maximum ground clearance of 250 mm. The boot space of the Lamborghini Urus has a capacity of 616 litres
Summary
The Lamborghini Urus looks very aggressive and it has its own unique identity. This super SUV has sporty design elements all-around and it is available in multiple colour shades.
The Lamborghini Urus has a striking exterior design but its interior looks very sophisticated. Step inside the cabin and one can instantly feel that it screams luxury and sportiness. The dashboard of the Urus, just like most other Lamborghinis, feels like the cockpit of an aircraft. The Urus gets a very sporty three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel with large paddle shifters and Lamborghini’s large logo at the centre. The cockpit of this super SUV is oriented towards the driver and it gets a large TFT display as the instrument cluster that displays a ton of info.
Moreover, the Urus also gets a large touchscreen infotainment system that comes loaded with a lot of tech and gets all sorts of connectivity features. We also have a secondary display at the lower half of the central console that is primarily to control AC and other functionalities. The Urus gets rectangle-shaped AC vents that look very sporty. The new Lamborghini Urus gets a dual-tone cabin along with silver accents on the dashboard. It even gets Lamborghini’s insignia embedded on the dashboard. The Lamborghini Urus gets a beige and black interior theme that looks very premium and also there are several sporty accents all-around inside the cabin.
Summary
The new Lamborghini Urus gets a very rich cabin that comes loaded with a ton of features. Moreover, the cabin looks very premium and reminds you that you are sitting inside a 3 Crore rupees+ super SUV.
The new Lamborghini Urus is powered by a 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 petrol engine that churns out a massive 650 PS of maximum power at 6000 RPM and a whopping 850 Nm of torque between 2250 - 4500 RPM. These are mind-blowing figures and these figures certainly make it one of the most powerful SUVs on the planet. The engine comes mated to a ZF-sourced 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission and it gets paddle shifters too. Moreover, there are multiple driving modes in this car and what sets the Urus apart from other vehicles is that it responds differently in each and every mode.
The Lamborghini Urus gets a total of six driving modes which can be toggled via its anima lever. There are three driving modes for its on-road manners while the other three are for off-road as at the end of the day, it’s an SUV. The different riding modes for its on-road characteristics are Strada (street), Sport and the final one is the full-blown Corsa (which is the track mode). The off-road specific modes of the Urus are Sabbia (sand), Terra (mud) and Neve (snow). The Urus offers ballistic performance and the ZF-sourced gearbox offers lightning-fast gear shifts. In terms of fuel economy, the Urus has an ARAI-claimed mileage of 7.87 kmpl
Summary
The Lamborghini Urus is a crazy super SUV and it offers ballistic performance. This super SUV can reach from 0-100 kmph in just 3.6 seconds and it has a top speed of 305 kmph
Urus engine specifications:
| Transmission | Automatic |
| Mileage | 7.8 |
| Engine | 3996-3999 cc |
| Power | 789 bhp @ 6000 rpm |
| Torque | 800 Nm @ 2250 rpm |
| Drive Train | AWD & FWD |
The Lamborghini Urus is a super SUV but it handles like a sports car, such a capable machine it is. In fact, the Urus is an engineering marvel as it defies the laws of physics and accelerates rapidly from nought to ton and even reaches its electronically limited top speed in just no time, provided you have enough tarmac left to hit that speed. The Lamborghini Urus offers a crazy amount of thrust and this super SUV does 0-100 kmph run in just 3.6 seconds, 0-200 kmph in 12.8 seconds and the top speed of the SUV is limited at 306 kmph.
The Lamborghini Urus measures 5 metres long and it is 2 metres wide. In fact, this SUV offers a massive maximum ground clearance of around 250 mm, but despite all that, it handles brilliantly well and there is absolutely no body roll at all, even at seriously high speeds around the twisties. This is possible all thanks to its four-wheel steering tech, torque vectoring and active roll stability control. The Urus offers a stiff ride quality, however, it doesn’t feel uncomfortable at all and it is a perfect super powerful SUV for our Indian roads too.
Summary
The Lamborghini Urus offers a stiff ride quality but it handles very well. In fact, the Urus is one of the best handling SUVs out there in the market and it feels more like a sports car than an SUV.
The Lamborghini Urus is loaded with several active and passive safety features. Moreover, it is built on the Volkswagen Group’s popular MLBevo platform that underpins a lot of other VW Group cars like the performance-oriented Audi RS Q8, etc. The Lamborghini Urus hasn’t been crash-tested yet by any testing agency, not even by NHTSA and its primary reason could be the exclusiveness and hefty price tag of the Urus. However, NHTSA has crash-tested the Audi Q8 and it bagged an impressive overall 5-star safety rating.
Since the Audi Q8 series and the Lamborghini Urus are based on the exact same platform with no major structural changes, one can expect the Urus to perform similarly in the NHTSA crash test. If we talk about safety features, so the Lamborghini Urus gets all-wheel disc brakes. In fact, it gets a massive 440 mm diameter carbon-ceramic disc at the front and a 370 mm disc at the rear. It also gets eight airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), front and rear parking sensors with a 360-degree parking camera and a host of other features.
Summary
The new Lamborghini Urus is a very feature-loaded SUV and it gets a host of safety equipment. In fact, Lamborghini claims that the Urus has the largest brake diameter in the world seen on any production vehicle yet.
