The 249cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, SOHC engine that powers the FZ 25 generates 20.5bhp at 8,000 rpm and 20.1Nm of maximum torque at 6,000 rpm. There is a 5-speed transmission included with the engine. The motorcycle works admirably on highways and in cities. Overtaking is simple due to the abundance of low- and mid-range power.

The motorcycle receives a new, edgy front fascia with an all-LED projector headlamp, a cowl underneath, angular tank extensions, and an exhaust muffler in silver. Telescopic front forks and a 7-step adjustable mono-cross suspension are standard on the Yamaha FZ 25. At either end, disc brakes are in charge of stopping. It has a 220 mm disc in the back and a 282 mm disc up front. Dual-channel ABS is added to it as an additional safety measure. The tubeless tyres on the FZ 25 are 17 inches.
