Both the bikes are 250cc commuters that are available in the market at an affordable price tag with enhanced design and features. Bajaj recently launched its biggest Pulsars ever in the market - 250F and N250. Today we will talk about N250 as both the bikes carry the same specifications and dimensions. N250 is built on a steel tubular frame that is resistant to stress and torsionally stiff. The N250 comes with a flat handlebar which allows the rider to have a relaxed riding position.

N250 is a naked one that boasts a futuristic design and features a LED projector unipod headlamp integrated by LED turn indicators that are also used as Daytime Running Lights as well. N250 is equipped with a split seat design, muscular fuel tank design, and the newly introduced X-shaped LED taillight design. Suspension duties are handled by 37 mm telescopic suspensions at the front and a new mono-shock suspension at the rear.

It is available with different color schemes which make the bike look more attractive. The bike comes with edgy graphics to make it look more appealing than before. Yamaha has enhanced the bike with a perfect riding position. The stance of the motorcycle is the one much needed by the rider. 

The bike comes with an advanced midship exhaust cover which gives an impression of sharpness making it look compact while protecting the pillion from heat. The bike comes with a in-built side stand engine cut-off switch and 140mm wider rear tyres. To make the motorcycle more approachable it comes equipped with 7-step adjustable monocross suspension that gives an excellent riding comfort and an unparalleled handling stability.

Features

Just like four-wheelers, the two-wheeler manufacturers have also started inheriting their models with first-class features and comforts for the rider. Bajaj Pulsar N250 offers an attractive list of features. It comes with a newly upgraded instrument cluster with the tachometer needle was a deliberate move from Bajaj to remind you of the badge of thrill. It also gets an adjoining display that will show a gear shift indicator, alongside a USB mobile charging port it will be neatly tucked in beneath the instrument cluster. The bike is also equipped with a newly designed headlamp unit which makes the bike look more appealing. Bajaj has equipped the N250 with assist and slipper clutch and new mono-shock suspensions that make the current iteration of Pulsar such a lucrative option.

Yamaha is no less. With its FZ25 Yamaha offers class D bi-functional LED headlamps with integrated LED Daytime running lights (DRLs) born for adventure, multi-functional negative LCD instrument cluster which provides info like trip meter, engine check, and real time mileage. The bike is equipped with dual channel ABS with disc brakes at both ends. Along with this Yamaha also offers a set of accessories with its FZ 25 which includes a LED flasher, engine guard, USB charger, and a bike cover.

Specifications

Yamaha FZ25 is powered by a air cooled four-stroke SOHC two-valve 249cc engine that is capable of churning out 20.8PS of maximum power and 20.1 Nm of peak torque. The bike comes mated to a constant mesh, five-speed transmission. 

On the other hand, Bajaj Pulsar N250 is powered by a single cylinder four-stroke SOHC two-valve oil cooled FI 249.07cc engine that is capable of churning out 24.5PS of maximum power and 21.5 Nm of peak torque which is also mated to the same constant mesh, five-speed transmission.

As seen above both the motorcycles offer similar specifications however differ a bit in features, design and dimensions. Now lets see what is the price difference between the two. Bajaj and Yamaha always introduce their models with an affordable price so that the manufacturers are able to achieve more and more customers. 

Yamaha FZ 25 is available in three color schemes - metallic black, racing blue, and monster energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition. It starts at Rs 1,36,800 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and goes up to Rs 1,38,800 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Whereas Bajaj Pulsar N250 is available with a single color option and asks for a premium of Rs 1,38,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

On comparing the prices of the motorcycles Yamaha FZ 25 is just Rs 1,200 expensive whereas the MotoGP Edition is more expensive by Rs 800.

Final Verdict

Both the motorcycles carry the same engine specifications whereas the transmission is also same in both the bikes. There is hardly any difference in prices of the bikes as well. Now comes the question of choosing between the two. Bajaj claims this Pulsar as the biggest one in its series with a stubby exhaust note and enhanced performance built on a stronger frame to make it a fun to ride motorcycle.

However, Yamaha is also one of the oldest two-wheeler manufacturers which has always introduced a powerful motorcycle or a scooter in the market. It recently also introduced a smart hybrid technology in its 125cc scooter for better fuel efficiency. Yamaha FZ is now an old motorcycle which has continuously received updates to compete with its rivals. FZ 25 and Pulsar N250 both are naked bikes so it absolutely depends on your choice whichever you find more fun to ride.
