Bajaj Pulsar NS 125
The Bajaj Pulsar NS 125, updated in February, now features fresh graphics and a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. It retains its 124.45 cc engine, offering 12 bhp and 11 Nm of torque. With good handling and an ARAI-claimed mileage of 46.9 kmpl, it’s ideal for daily rides. As a top-seller in Bajaj's 125cc lineup, the NS 125 excels in style and technology. However, it has a rear drum brake and lacks single-channel ABS, which may concern safety-focused riders.

Expert Verdict on Pulsar NS 125
The Bajaj Pulsar NS 125 is a good-looking sports bike that we love for its performance and easy usage. Its engine performance and fuel economy will also keep you happy. However, it has now started to look old in front of the competition. Also, the lack of features is now evident at this price point.

Pros & Cons of Bajaj Pulsar NS 125
Should I buy the Pulsar NS 125?
The Bajaj Pulsar NS 125 is an affordable sports bike with a bold appearance and a fierce riding stance. Its design mirrors the larger NS models. Standout features get attention. They include the semi-digital instrument console. However, it is strictly meant for young buyers as it is not a very comfortable city commuter. Also, its engine is aggressive. This is clear when compared to the other 125cc bikes in India.
- The Pulsar NS 125 is based on the design layout of the bigger NS models. It looks more or less similar to the Pulsar NS160. However, even with its old looks now, the bike is a sure head-turner on the road. The aggressive elements like the fuel tank extensions and decals with bright colours enhance its road presence.
- The rider triangle or the sitting comfort for the rider is sporty on the NS 125. It is a bike that caters to a sporty riding stance. The footpegs are rear set and the handlebar is tilted towards the front to give it a proper sporty appeal. For short rides this position is comfortable but for long rides, it can make the travelling tiring.
- The split seat offers good cushioning on the go while its heaviest weight in the segment ensures good straight-line stability as well.
Pulsar NS 125 body specifications:
Seat Height | 805 mm |
Weight | 144 kg |
Wheel Size | 17 inch |
Fuel Tank Capacity | 12 liters |
- Bajaj’s 125cc air-cooled engine is a rev-happy engine. It generates a peak power of 11.6 bhp that might not look much on paper but its performance is peppy and crispy.
- The bike feels very responsive to ride even from lower rpm. Once past the mid-range i.e. 5,000 rpm mark, it can easily touch 9,000 rpm without hesitation. Also, there is no buzzing or rattling from the engine while being ridden hard.
- The engine heat is also well controlled and the bike remains cool even after an entire day of riding hard.
- The 5-speed transmission is slick to use and the throws are well defined as well.
- The high kerb weight of 144kg does not bother even inside the city. The weight distribution and short turning radius make it a happy city commuter.
- The ARAI-claimed fuel economy of the NS 125 is 46.9 kmpl but if you ride it sedately it can easily deliver more than 55 kmpl in the mix riding conditions.
Pulsar NS 125 engine specifications:
Mileage | 46.9 kmpl |
Engine Displacement | 124.45 cc |
Top Speed | 103 kmph |
Power | 11.8 bhp @ 8500 rpm |
Torque | 11 Nm @ 7000 rpm |
- Bajaj doesn’t offer much in terms of features on the NS 125. It gets an LED taillight. It has a semi-digital instrument console. The console displays basic info like the odometer, trip meters, fuel economy, and a gear upshift light.
- Although the NS 125 has a 240mm front disc brake and a rear drum brake, it still feels underconfident. The braking area needs improvement as the bike tends to plunge forward even after applying full braking power. A single-channel ABS, perhaps, can resolve this. However, it doesn’t come with that option.
- The rear monoshock suspension has five steps. It enhances the ride quality well. It ensures a reassuring and stable experience. It gives the rider the flexibility to adjust as per their riding requirements and changes in riding conditions.
Pulsar NS 125 features:
GPS & Navigation | No |
USB charging port | Yes |
Touch Screen | No |
Instrument Console | Digital |
- The comes with a telescopic suspension at the front and an adjustable rear monoshock. However, no matter how hard you try it remains stiff most of the time. The overall ride quality is on the stiffer side. Sharp undulations of the road and bump roads transfer jerks straight to the spine of the rider.
- Due to the stiffer suspension, the handling of the NS 125 is very engaging. It feels confident to ride around ghats and curvy roads. Inside the city, the manoeuvrability is also sorted and even the short riders can easily potter it around the town.

- TSTejas Shete28 Days ago3.8The Pulsar NS125 is the most stylish and sporty 125cc bike in India. It offers a powerful 124.45cc engine producing 12PS power, good pickup, and decent mileage around 45–50 km/l. The handling is sharp, and it feels stable even at higher speeds.
