Honda Unicorn Detailed Review
- The Honda Unicorn continues to carry a simple yet mature design that may not grab instant attention, but its clean styling and premium-looking body panels give it a timeless commuter appeal.
- Honda’s fit and finish quality remains one of the strongest aspects of the Unicorn. The switchgear, paint quality, and overall panel finishing feel durable enough to handle long-term everyday usage without complaints.
- The long single-piece seat, upright riding posture, and well-cushioned suspension setup make the Unicorn extremely comfortable for daily city commutes as well as occasional longer highway rides.
Unicorn body specifications:
| Ground Clearance | 187 mm |

- The Honda Unicorn is 2081 mm long, 756 mm wide, and 1103 mm tall. The motorcycle is quite approachable for both short and tall riders thanks to its 1335 mm wheelbase and 798 mm seat height. The motorcycle's enormous 187 mm ground clearance is more than sufficient to easily navigate speed bumps. It has a sizable gasoline tank with a 13 litre overall capacity. The 140 kg new Honda Unicorn 160 BS6 is heavy.
Summary
The new Honda Unicorn 160 is a very proportionate motorcycle and it offers great ground clearance. The bike is quite accessible for all sorts of riders and it has a big fuel tank.
- The 162.7cc engine feels exceptionally refined and smooth throughout the rev range. Even at higher speeds, vibrations remain minimal, which adds to the overall relaxed and stress-free riding experience.
- Low-end performance is strong enough for city traffic conditions, while the smooth throttle response makes overtakes easy without needing frequent gear shifts during everyday commuting.
- Despite being a 160cc motorcycle, the Unicorn manages to deliver impressive fuel efficiency figures. The engine balances performance and economy very well, making it a practical choice for regular riders.
- The 5-speed gearbox feels slick and light during shifts. Combined with the refined engine character, it enhances overall riding comfort, especially in stop-and-go traffic conditions.
Unicorn engine specifications:
| Transmission | Manual |
| Mileage | 50 |
| Engine | 162.7 cc |
- Honda has finally updated the Unicorn with practical modern features like a digital LCD console, USB-C charging port, and LED headlamp, making the motorcycle feel more relevant for today’s buyers.
- Safety features such as single-channel ABS and side-stand engine cut-off add extra confidence during daily usage, although the overall feature list still feels basic compared to some rivals in the segment.
Summary
The new Honda Unicorn 160 packs in decent hardware and it is a very comfortable motorcycle. However, the motorcycle is not very feature-rich and it gets analogue dials for instrumentation that display basic trip-related information only.
- The Unicorn feels stable and planted at highway speeds thanks to its long wheelbase and well-balanced suspension setup, which helps the motorcycle maintain confidence over uneven road surfaces.
- Ride quality remains one of the strongest highlights of the motorcycle. The suspension absorbs potholes and broken patches quite effectively, keeping the overall riding experience comfortable for both rider and pillion.
- Handling feels predictable and easy for everyday use, though the motorcycle is clearly tuned more for comfort than sporty cornering or aggressive riding behaviour.
- While the front disc brake performs adequately for daily commuting duties, the absence of a rear disc brake slightly reduces braking confidence during sudden or high-speed braking situations.
