Triumph Motorcycles India has launched a new bike recently called Tracker 400, a new iteration of the Speed 400, and it costs Rs 2.46 lakh (ex-showroom). This is now the sixth variation of the Triumph 350cc bikes sold in India, and it has a couple of qualities that set it apart. Triumph Tracker 400

The Triumph Tracker 400, from photos, appears to be a highly premium roadster made for people who don't want to be part of the crowd - they want to stand apart and appreciate the finer details in life. At its core, this is a Speed 400, but it costs Rs 16,000 more. There are several design changes too, such as a broader fuel tank compared to its siblings.

The riding position is also different, featuring a flat and wide handlebar along with slightly rear-set footpegs to enhance control and road presence. Moreover, the rear cowl is extended, giving it a distinctive design, and it comes as a single-seater. Of course, this can be removed, after which the seat can accommodate two people. However, this single-seat setup reflects its true nature - delivering an engaging riding experience for both city commuting and long-distance touring.

Also, the rear tail lamp is taken from the Thruxton 400, and there is really bold '400' badging on the sides, elevating its machismo factor, which is also reminiscent of its flat track racing theme. The headlight is the same as its siblings, but the small wind deflector makes it look like it's wearing a cap, and it looks really cool. The underpinning remains the same - a 350cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine making 40 PS and 32 Nm of torque.

Moreover, this bike is positioned above the T4 and Speed 400, so buyers who want a more standout-looking bike with distinctive styling should go for it. For the rest, even the bikes below it will do the job just fine.
Verdict
So, people looking for exclusivity along with a premium, lifestyle-oriented roadster that stands apart from the crowd while still offering the proven performance of the Speed 400. However, buyers who are more value-conscious, prefer practicality like a standard dual-seat setup, or are simply looking for the same performance at a lower price will be better off considering the Speed 400 or T4, as they deliver a very similar riding experience without the added premium for design-focused.
