Honda Civic Mileage Tips

Air pressure vs Fuel economy

Keeping your car's tyre pressure at the recommended level improves fuel economy by up to 5%. Underinflated tyres create drag, causing the engine to work harder. Check air pressure every two weeks and before long trips. Slightly higher pressure (by 1-2 PSI) for highway drives can further boost mileage.

Miss the manual gearbox

I own a 2019 model Honda Civic and have driven close to 10k km. I have the petrol automatic which gets a CVT gearbox and I am totally impressed by the build quality of this car. Often it is chauffeur driven for the sole use of my family members but I get this car on weekends. I have taken this car to hills twice and felt was totally okay with the ground clearance. The roads were bad but the Civic just didn’t give up and didn’t hit its underbody once. The only problem is it is giving me mileage in single figures and that scares me when going on long drives. Also, I feel Honda should have provided a manual gearbox in in the Civic as overtaking on the highways is really as task and the rubberband effect is really annoying.
