After a long wait, we finally saw the launch of the 2020 Hyundai i20 and it has crossed over 20000 bookings in just 20 days! That's an amazing response given how exponentially the prices of the new model have grown. Over 85% of buyers opted for the top trims and 4,000 deliveries are already commenced.

Hyundai left no stones unturned in case of the new i20 and brimmed it with a ton of features. While the variant segregation has been shortened, there are a lot more choices available for the customers in terms of engine and gearbox options. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol is the most popular engine from Hyundai among enthusiasts but it would have a boon if offered with a true manual as well.

Most of the buyers have said to opt for the top-end trims, 85% to be precise. Hyundai actually managed the deliveries really well and completed the 4,000 deliveries in the festive season. That was possible because of the early dispatch of units before the launch. Talking about the features of the new i20, it comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver's display, Bose sound system, ambient lighting, leatherette upholstery and much more.

Talking about the details on the powertrain options, the new i20 comes with three engine options. The 1.2-litre petrol engine produces 82PS/113 Nm with the 5-speed manual and 88PS/113 Nm with the 7-step IVT. The 1.5-litre diesel produces 100PS and 240 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual. Lastly. we have the 1.0-litre turbo petrol which produces 120PS and 172 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT gearbox. The bookings of the 2020 Hyundai i20 have crossed the 20000 mark and Hyundai will process the deliveries as soon as possible to contain the demand.
