Citroen India will make its debut in India with the C5 Aircross. As the C5 Aircross will come through the CBU route, Citroen has also planned some made-in-India cars for our market. We have seen the Citroen Berlingo 7-seater MPV multiple times in India and it's been spied once again. Citroen has given no word about its launch - it can also be used to test the engine and platform for future Citroen products.

Citroen India will launch the C5 Aircross in India in early 2021 which will be followed by the launch of the C21 compact-SUV. Citroen has also a Baleno-rival premium hatchback on the cards which is slated to get launched in 2022. Talking about the spied Citroen Berlingo MPV, it comes in two sizes - standard and XL. The one spied here seems to be the XL model as it is much longer and has a big footprint.
The launch of the Citroen Berlingo is highly unlikely in India. We Indians like more intuitive design and tailor-made features and specifications. Direct carry forward design and features mostly doesn't work in the Indian market. Also, the looks of the Berlingo are more towards the commercial segment and less appealing when compared to the Maruti Ertiga or Toyota Innova Crysta.

While the launch of the Berlingo is unlikely, this can be the testing unit of the engine and platform future Citroen MPV may get in India. Talking about the Berlingo, it gets multiple petrol and diesel engine options which include 1.2L petrol and 1.5L diesel offered in multiple states of tunes. Just like the Carnival, it also gets sliding rear doors but thick B-pillar comes between the front and rear windows - lending it a van-like appeal.
