Ford India is not really active these days and no one can deny that their portfolio is getting older. While we are seeing one new launch after the other of new interesting cars, Ford is just taking minor revisions of the current models on the charge. As we all know, Mahindra-Ford JV is a good deal for both the brands and a lot of new products are planned in future. Ford Ranger has been spied on Indian roads yet again - this time with red registration plates.

According to a rumour, Ford will also consider its powerful range of hatchbacks and SUVs for the Indian market which includes the Bronco, Raptor, Mustang Mach-e and 2021 Mustang facelift. With that being said, we can expect the Ford Ranger lifestyle pickup truck from the Blue Oval in India soon. The model spied on roads is speculated to be the base cab version and it also didn't have rear taillights.

As the spied Ford Ranger wears red registration plates, it can be a test mule of Mahindra-Ford to test the engine and platform for the Indian market. For the uninitiated, Ford Ranger is the lifestyle pick-up incarnation of the Ford Everest or Endeavour SUV. Both the Endeavour and Ranger share same engine and gearbox options and Ford also offer an off-road specific Raptor version as well. However, we have no clue or any legit response from Ford as to when the Ranger will be launched in India.

Ford Ranger is the entry-level lifestyle pick-up truck from the American marque and sits below the F-150 and other trucks. In India, it will be brushing its shoulders with the only lifestyle pick-up truck of India - the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross. Interestingly, Isuzu is yet to launch the updated BS6 model of the V-Cross in the Indian market which will be the facelifted model. Some diehard fans of the Ford Ranger have even imported the Ranger in India for personal use. Even one Ford Ranger Raptor is listed on a pre-owned car dealer for sale. Having said that, Ford Ranger will also get a rival from Japan which is the Toyota Hilux.
