
The Mercedes-Benz A Class sedan was first showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo and the launch was expected soon after but because of the COVID-19, it got delayed to weeks and then months. Finally, there's a report that the German carmaker is keen on introducing the A Class sedan late October.

The German carmaker will first bring in the performance version that is the AMG variant of the A Class sedan first. Yes, this brutal 2.0-litre, the four-cylinder turbocharged unit will make as much as 301 bhp and will carry a standard all-wheel-drive mode.

Like the other AMG models, this one too will differentiate itself from the regular model in terms of styling. This one will get bigger alloy wheels, aggressive front and rear bumper design and a spoiler on the bootlid. The inside too will host several things like an AMG steering wheel, sport seats, twin 10.25-inch screens, one for the instrument cluster and other for the infotainment and among other features.

For those asking for the oil burner then the 220d version will make as much as 194 bhp while the petrol with the A 200 version will make 185 bhp only. These versions will only power the front wheels as compared to the all-wheel-drive we have in the AMG.

As per the reports, both the diesel and humble petrol engine will be available in a single top of the line unit. It will host several features like LED headlights, panoramic sunroof, Mercedes MBUX system, cruise control, Mercedes Me connected tech, ambient lighting, wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, powered front seats and more.
Coming to the regular variants of the A Class sedan then it will carry a price tag close to Rs 40 lakh while the AMG version will be priced between Rs 60-65 lakh. All prices stick to ex-showroom, Delhi. The AMG version will be launched first followed by the regular variants.
