
Mercedes will step into the electric shoes on October 8 by launching the much-awaited EQC. This electric SUV from Mercedes-Benz looks promising and will cater to the needs of buyers who are looking for power, luxury and sustainability.
Design-wise, the electric SUV speaks of confidence with its large thick grille in black with matrix LED headlights. It will come with 20-inch alloy wheels as standard and will continue to get the three part light system at the rear. Overall the SUV looks impressive in terms of design and numbers.

Like the outside, the inside too gets the latest technology and creature comforts. You see the dual 12.3-inch screens, touch for the infotainment and another for the instrument cluster. The front seat offer massage function which makes long rides easier. It gets the latest MBUX interface, wireless charging, automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof and more.

Sharing about the power figures of the Mercedes EQC then it carries a battery pack of 80kWh and this standalone weighs 652 kgs and gets 384 individual cells. The battery can be charged from 0-100% in just 10 hours using the 7.4kWh wall box charger while the DC fast charger juices the battery from 10% to 80% in just 40 minutes. Now, that's an impressive figure.

Being the developing country India is, we may not find charging stations like we have conventional fuel pumps. But with a total range of 450 km and with multiple driving modes like comfort, sport, eco and individual. The latter is for those who want their own setting. Another impressive quality is the 0-100 km/h acceleration which is well achieved in just 5.1 seconds.

While the electric motor is capable of churning 400 bhp with 760 Nm of peak torque, the top speed is electronically limited to 180 km/h only. As of now, the prices are not yet out but we expect it to stick to an upwards of Rs 1 Crore. The EQC will take on the upcoming rivals like Jaguar i-Pace, Tesla Model X and Audi e-Tron.
