We all have women who have played a significant role in our lives, be it our mother, sisters, wives, friends or anyone! International Women's Day is one such day when we ought to make them feel exceptional and thank them for their contribution to our lives. So, on the occasion of International Women's Day, the Volkswagen Skoda Group in India rolled out the #LicensetoDrive Programme for its women employees on 8th March 2022.
In this programme, almost a hundred women employees under the umbrella of Volkswagen Skoda Group India participated in the virtual training sessions and undertook their online test evaluation to get a Learner's Driving License. This would help women employees to develop a skill and become independent to travel from one place to another. The first phase of this programme reportedly began on 4th March 2022.
The second phase of this #LicensetoDrive programme commenced on Women's Day itself, where the women drivers who underwent training for almost a month were taken along to their respective RTO to obtain a Learner's License.
This campaign is being led and supported by the Volkswagen Skoda Group in an effective way as they believe driving to be a skill. A skill should increasingly be adopted by women too, which would help promote equality on the mobility front. So, this initiative has been taken up to train the women with a series of training sessions, communication campaigns and on-ground events so as to teach driving to the ones who have not been able to devote their time and efforts towards learning this critical skill over the years due to their hectic schedule and responsibilities.
