Last updated on 8th May'23: Positioned as a slightly more premium offering over the Crayon Zeez, the Crayon Envy is a marginally bigger electric scooter than the former. This low-speed, non-registrable electric scooter is a good fit for short and basic commutes, given its low-levelled specifications. The Crayon Envy is being offered in a single variant.
Battery and Motor:The Crayon Envy shares its powertrain setup with the smaller and affordable Crayon Zeez. It means that it is powered by a rear hub-mounted 0.25 kW electric motor, which enables the Envy to reach a top speed of 25 kmph to make it suitable for short-distance commutes. The scooter also comes with a 48/60V lithium-ion battery, and while Crayon Motors hasn’t claimed its maximum riding range, the Envy is expected to return a range of 50-60 km in real-world conditions on a single charge.
Design and features : The overall design of the Crayon Envy is quite edgy to look at, though the quality levels all around the scooter are below average, with the panel quality and panel gaps looking shoddy in places. Nevertheless, the front apron of the Envy has an edgy appearance to it, with the upswept angular headlamps giving it a visual mass at the front. The handlebar cowl also looks sharp and comes equipped with clear lens turn indicators within them. The scooter has 10-inch wheels – an alloy wheel at the front and a steel wheel with a hub-mounted motor at the back. Like the front, the side body panels of the Crayon Envy also look edgy and slightly bigger than those of the Crayon Zeez. The uprising body panels of the Envy, which come with a couple of sharp creases through them, have a dual-tone treatment and come with an alloy pillion grab rail at the back. Behind the pillion seat, the Envy also gets a small backrest for the comfort of pillion riders.Behind the tail section of the Crayon Envy, there is an angular-looking tail lamp cluster, which comes integrated with clear lens turn indicators. The Envy also comes with a very basic-looking digital instrument console, which shows data regarding the vehicle speed and remaining range of the battery. In terms of features, the Crayon Envy gets a side stand indicator and a mobile charging socket.
Colours:There are three colour options on offer for the Crayon Envy – Super White, Soothing Blue and Fiesty Orange.
Rivals: Crayon Motors has priced the Envy in the range of Rs 53,000 to Rs 65,000, and in this price range, it competes with other basic and cheap electric scooters like Bounce Infinity E1, Okinawa R30 and Odysse e2Go.
