Triumph Tracker 400 Detailed Review
- The new Tracker 400 boasts race-inspired styling with aggressive body lines that give it an attractive design language. It continues to carry a silhouette similar to other 400cc Triumph models while retaining its modern-classic appeal. It features a sculpted fuel tank with knee cutouts, dual-spoke alloy wheels, a small flyscreen, powder-coated covers, among other attractive elements.
- It is available in three race-inspired colour options with bold badging on the fuel tank, race stripes, and a distinctive number board on the side with a “400” sticker as a tribute to flat-track racers. Overall, the styling gives it a sporty look, making it one of the best-looking motorcycles in the 400 series in the market.
- Despite being called the Tracker 400, it is powered by a 350cc engine that produces 40 PS / 39.4 bhp of peak power and 32 Nm of peak torque. This new engine will also power other motorcycles in the 400 lineup. Interestingly, the Tracker is sold with a 398cc engine in global markets, offering more power and torque.
- The performance is well-suited for daily riding, and the riding stance is slightly race-inspired, providing a comfortable yet engaging riding position. The torque-assist clutch further enhances performance by ensuring smoother torque delivery.
Tracker 400 engine specifications:

To give it a race-inspired stance, the brand has revised the motorcycle’s dimensions compared to the Speed 400. It features a dedicated chassis with 43mm upside-down front forks offering 140mm travel, and a gas-charged monoshock RSU with 130mm travel and preload adjustment.
-
The handlebar is wider, set 23mm broader and 134mm lower than the Speed 400. The footpegs are repositioned slightly rearward and higher to provide a more aggressive and confident riding posture. To complete the flat-track look, it gets block-pattern tyres paired with dual-spoke alloy wheels. Overall, the mechanical setup ensures a good balance of comfort and ride quality.
- While the styling and mechanical package are strong, the feature list feels slightly limited. It comes equipped with switchable traction control, ABS, a semi-digital instrument console, and disc brakes at both ends, among other features. However, some rivals in the segment offer a more comprehensive feature set.
