Bajaj Avenger Street 160 Detailed Review
Avenger Street 160 Looks and Design
The Bajaj Avenger was always destined to be a cruiser bike. The low-slung design was to cater to the customers who want a cruiser bike with a powerful as well as fuel economical engine. The Avenger Street 160, however, features a compact design that caters more to the ease of city riding along with additional fuel economy. It has a modern street style look to it, as well as a variety of other fantastic characteristics. It includes a sleek headlamp as well as LED DRLs, which provide brighter light and ignite 0.2 seconds faster than incandescent lights. They are also beneficial to other road users since they assist them in avoiding accidents. It also features a low and long seat, which gives it a star-like appearance. For street control, it has long handlebars. It's also equipped with alloy wheels. Because alloy wheels are lighter than spoked wheels, they put less strain on the engine. Because they are lightweight, they need less energy to move and so improve the engine's performance.
It's a cruiser bike with a stunning design and appearance. It features a good finish and a long seat for additional comfort, but the look is comparable to the previous model. In addition, the build quality isn't great. It does not come with a windscreen.
Avenger Street 160 Dimensions
The dimensions of the Avenger Street 160 are comparatively slim and sleek when compared to its more powerful sibling the Avenger 220. Its dimensions have been designed to make it more usable and easy to ride inside the city traffic. The bike's length is 2210 mm. Furthermore, it has a 169 mm ground clearance. It's 1070 mm tall and 806 mm wide. The bike's kerb weight is 156kg, and the saddle height is 737 mm. It has a 1490 mm wheelbase. The short wheelbase also helps in increasing the maneuverability of the bike in tight city traffic.
The bike's dimensions are good and sufficient, allowing the rider to have a pleasant experience.
Avenger Street 160 Engine and Performance
The Bajaj Avenger Street 160 engine is desinged to cater the city riding. The 160cc engine provides enough power and torque to ride it easily within the city as well as on the outskirts. Surprisingly, this engine is quite fuel economical as well. This bike is powered by a 4-stroke engine, which is more efficient and less polluting. Aside from that, 4-stroke engines have a good lubricating system, which allows them to run very cleanly and at low power.
It is powered by an air-cooled engine with a simple design and is lightweight. It requires less attention and upkeep. Because it does not have cylinder jackets or radiator water tubes, it also works in harsh environments when there is even a scarcity of water. This is also why there is no chance of frost damage. It features a twin-spark, which means it has a higher performance as well as good fuel efficiency because the combustion is at an optimal level. Also, in this type of engine, the problem of engine locking, backfire and vibration is resolved. They are a good option in extreme weather.
It has a 220cc engine and a FI fuel system with a restricted fuel injection system. It generates more power and consumes less fuel. It improves throttle response and extends the life of the engine. It is also environmentally beneficial. It boasts a maximum power output of 11.03 kW (15 PS) at 7500 rpm and a maximum torque output of 13.7Nm at 5500 rpm, making it a formidable street bike.
It has a tuned engine that is environmentally friendly, which is one of the most significant features nowadays. Additionally, the fuel efficiency is excellent. It also has a twin spark, four-stroke, air-cooled, two-valve engine, demonstrating that the bike's engine is extremely powerful and capable of working in difficult conditions.
Avenger Street 160 Tyres, Brakes and Features
It sports a 280 mm front disc brake and a 130 mm rear drum brake for safety. Because disc brakes provide more braking power with less effort, less heat is required to break the torque. They are simple to maintain and cool down quickly. They are also safer in adverse conditions. Drum brakes have a basic design and a longer lifespan than disc brakes. In addition, their maintenance costs are cheap and within reach. The tyre size of Avenger Street 160 is small when compared to the bigger Avenger 220. The brakes, however, work flawlessly and help increase the rider's confidence on the go.
The front tyre size is 90/90-17 49P, while the rear tyre size is 130/90-15 66P. Both the front and rear tyres on this bike are tubeless. It sports a wide rear tyre for cornering performance and stability at high speeds. It also enhances grip and provides comfort over long distances. A rear tyre helps in the easy handling of the bike with more stability as it aligns in a straight line with the front one.
Let's take a look at the bike's comfort level now. It has curved seats made of premium material that gives comfort for both the rider and the pillion passengers. It also has a low and long seat, which contributes to the bike's overall comfort. It also includes telescopic front suspension, which improves ride comfort and stability at greater speeds. It's also simple to maintain and soft-driven. It also boasts a 5-step adjustable twin shock absorber that eliminates wheel bouncing on uneven surfaces and absorbs minor road bumps for a comfortable ride.
It boasts both disc and drum brakes, as well as an excellent suspension for a safe and enjoyable ride. It provides a smooth ride for both the rider and the pillion passenger. More stability is provided by the wide back tyre.
