2020 Ford Freestyle Flair - Five Things We Like And Two Things We Don't

In our third series of Five things we like about our car and Two things that we don't, today we will share our deeds on the new 2020 Ford Freestyle Flair Edition. We have driven this car for good 500+ kilometres and can now share the instant Five things we love about the Freestyle and the Two things that could have been improved.
Five Things We Like About The 2020 Ford Freestyle Flair Edition
Styling
It comes as no surprise that this Flair edition now gets improved styling. The carmaker has cleverly used two colour combinations of glossy black and satin red which looked good on our media car having white as a primary colour. Like the satin red colour scheme can be seen on the ORVMs, roof rails and both front and rear skid plates, the glossy black is observed on the roof and the alloy wheels.

Overall, the fit and finish of the new Flair edition seems fresh and really brings out the good from the Freestyle. Additionally, the stickering of Flair edition can be seen on the lower parts of the doors. These little changes are quite noticeable on this crossover or a high hatchback.

Powerful Engine

The 1.2L dragon petrol which makes 96 PS of power is the highest in the segment and delivers a peak torque of 119 Nm. All of it comes from the three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol motor. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and the low rev torque is what you'll be needing in the peak city traffic. So overall, if you are someone who likes a petrol motor and need a powerful car then Freestyle is the answer.
13.67 GENUINE km/l Fuel Economy achieved in traffic conditions of Delhi
Ford claims that the ARAI certified mileage is 18.5 km/l while in our 120 km city drive with morning traffic we achieved a figure of 13.67 km/l. That's really impressive when the AC was on the entire time with two people on board. Plus this was a brand new car with less than 1000km on the odometer.
Good ground clearance and Light Steering

The Freestyle gets a ground clearance of 190 mm which comes in handy on bad roads. The more the ground clearance, the better you can easily cruise through bad roads without hurting the underbody. Also, for a city like Delhi, you need a light steering with a good response.
Safety
If you are someone who wants a budget car under Rs 9 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi but also don't want to compromise on the safety then Freestyle comes to the rescue. It provides 6 airbags, plenty of traction control elements and the Ford Active Rollover Prevention Technology.

Lack of features
The lack of rear AC vents, front-seat armrest, rear bottle holders, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are some of the features which could have really been considered by the carmakers. Believe me on this, if they were present then Freestyle would be the ultimate champion in the crossover or big hatch department.

No Automatic

Yes, Ford has not provided an automatic transmission in both petrol and diesel engine. New buyers are now considering a clutch free gearbox in the urban usage and in this regard, the Freestyle has its shortcoming.
