Mahindra Thar Mileage Tips
Air pressure vs Fuel economy
Keeping your car's tyre pressure at the recommended level improves fuel economy by up to 5%. Underinflated tyres create drag, causing the engine to work harder. Check air pressure every two weeks and before long trips. Slightly higher pressure (by 1-2 PSI) for highway drives can further boost mileage.

In crawling traffic, it can become irritating, cutting the engine just as you need to inch forward. Fuel saved is marginal in such conditions. Most owners disable it at start?up on city days and switch it back on during highway legs or long signals. Make it part of your start routine and you?ll stop

With the automatic, far less tiring than you fear. The gearbox creeps smoothly, and the engine?s torque masks laggy starts. Steering effort at parking speeds is higher than monocoques, and the cabin is noisier than crossovers, so you?ll feel more ?mechanical? feedback. Plan routes with fewer stop?go

A mid variant gives you all the important basics like safety features, infotainment and air conditioning without pushing the budget too much. Higher variants add features like better wheels, cruise control and improved audio which are useful on long drives. If this is your main car, these extras mak

The automatic with a torque converter matches the Thar’s nature and is easier on your knees. It moves smoothly in heavy traffic, reduces the feel of turbo lag and prevents left leg fatigue. The manual is more engaging off road and costs less upfront, but the clutch and tight foot space can become ti

If your routine includes office drives, village roads, farm visits and light dirt tracks, the rear wheel drive diesel manages well with lower running costs and a lighter front end. It can handle rough monsoon roads and mild slopes if driven patiently. What it cannot handle easily is deep mud, extrem
