2026 Skoda Kodiaq Review: Does ADAS Make It a Complete Package?

The Skoda Kodiaq is one of the most well-rounded premium SUVs under the Rs 50 lakh price tag in the Indian market. It offers European build quality, a refined turbo-petrol engine, premium interiors, and impressive practicality. For 2026, Skoda has addressed one of the SUV's biggest shortcomings by introducing Level 2 ADAS, making it an even stronger contender in its segment. Moreover, the brand has rolled out an update for the new-generation model, with the 2026 version receiving additional features across the lineup. I recently drove the updated Skoda Kodiaq, and here's my review of the 2026 model.

2026 Skoda Kodiaq - What’s New?

Skoda Kodiaq

The biggest update for the 2026 model is the addition of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). This was one of the few missing features when the new-generation Kodiaq was launched in 2025. The addition of ADAS makes the Kodiaq feel like a complete package. The Level 2 ADAS suite consists of features such as Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Warning, and Autonomous Emergency Braking, among others.

Talking about the ADAS performance, this is the best ADAS-equipped vehicle I've tested so far. The Lane Keep Assist operates at speeds above 70 km/h and is particularly useful on highways. It detects lane markings with ease and even displays the type of lane marking on the instrument cluster. However, the steering intervention is slightly on the heavier side and can feel aggressive at times. The calibration could have been a bit more natural for a smoother driving experience.

Coming to the Adaptive Cruise Control, the radar and camera accurately detect vehicles ahead and automatically adjust the vehicle's speed when the system is activated. Moreover, the instrument cluster displays the type of vehicle in front, whether it's a two-wheeler, a car, or a truck.

The 2026 Sportline variant is significantly better equipped and now feels more complete compared to when it was introduced in 2025. This update enhances both safety and value, making the SUV more competitive against its rivals.

The brand has also introduced a new Lounge variant as the entry-level trim in the lineup. To make it more affordable, this variant is offered exclusively with a five-seat configuration. Additionally, the mid-spec variant now comes equipped with a horizontal LED light bar at the front and a 360-degree camera.

Comfort & Ride Quality

The Kodiaq continues to impress with its planted ride quality and the confidence it inspires behind the wheel. The suspension remains composed while tackling potholes and rough patches, ensuring occupants remain comfortable. Despite its size, the Kodiaq feels well-balanced around corners and delivers an excellent ride quality. The suspension absorbs bad roads effortlessly, while high-speed stability remains one of its strongest attributes. Whether you're driving enthusiastically or covering long distances with the family, the Kodiaq feels comfortable and confidence-inspiring.

The steering is well-weighted and offers good feedback during quick manoeuvres and lane changes. However, at times, it can feel slightly vague, especially around the centre.

The seats are well-cushioned and provide excellent comfort. The electronically adjustable front seats also come with a massage function, further enhancing comfort for the front-row occupants. The rear seats are equally comfortable, making long journeys more relaxing for passengers.

The spacious cabin, comfortable seating, generous boot space, and flexible seating configuration make the Kodiaq a practical everyday SUV. The second-row seats offer excellent comfort, while the third row is best suited for children or shorter journeys. Cabin insulation is impressive, keeping outside noise to a minimum and making long-distance drives more relaxing.

Performance

The Kodiaq continues to be powered by the 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that produces 201 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque. This engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. The power delivery remains smooth and linear right from the lower rev range, while the mid-range feels punchy and responsive. The engine is always eager to cruise at triple-digit speeds, making highway driving effortless. There are no changes on the performance front, and the Kodiaq continues to deliver the same refined and engaging driving experience.

Our Verdict

The 2026 Skoda Kodiaq builds upon an already impressive package with meaningful updates. It offers premium interiors, refined performance, excellent ride quality, engaging driving dynamics, and the practicality of a seven-seat SUV.

With the addition of ADAS, the Kodiaq finally ticks every major box expected in this segment. The 2026 Sportline variant, in particular, feels more feature-rich and complete than the 2025 model. If you're looking for a premium family SUV that is equally enjoyable to drive and comfortable to be driven in, the new Kodiaq remains one of the best all-round choices in its class.
