Toyota Fortuner 2.8L Automatic Diesel Hello, this is my review of the all-new Fortuner which I got in 2019. Honestly, I was confused between the Ford Endeavour and this one since the rival offered me loads of features and a powerful engine. After a lot of searching and taking test drive, I got to know one of my mutual owns two fortuner. Yes, the 2010 model and the recent 2018 model. He lives in UP so I guess I took a short road trip to ask him about the experience as I was investing Rs 40 lakh in a car. After that, I booked one in black colour and got the delivery in just 20 days. All was sorted and its been a year since I have owned the SUV and have driven close to 20,000 km. The average I am getting is of 13-14 km/l cobined which is great for a car of this size. What’s missing is the panoramic sunroof and the comfortable seats which the Endeavour provides. This is my 4x2 model as I am not a fan of off- roading as such. Overall, I am quite happy with my money invested and I live in Mohali.
Toyota Fortuner 2011 Diesel Manual This is my review of Fortuner with manual gearbox that has covered close to 2 lakh km. Till now I have not faced even the slightest issue with the engine as the robust wuality is going strong. I have no huge issues of the 4x4 car but 4x2 was not available back then. One of the major overhaul I went for it converting the car from Type 1 to Type 2 and the costs was just Rs 80,000. Another 40K was for the alloy wheels. I went for this mod in 2019 itself and I am impressed by the quality of the work. I also went for the aftermarket tesla type touchscreen and seat covers and upholstery. What I hate about Toyota’s is the Lack of features. Also, the suspension is stiff and its sometimes a pain in the bad roads. The FE is between 7-9 km/l and I am really not impressed by it.
Toyota Fortuner 2010 4x4 Diesel I was one of the first owners of Fortuner and back in the day it was very popular. I got the SUV for Rs 20 lakh on road and till now I have covered 3 lakh km on the odometer. The only real problem I faced isa the replacement of clutch pedal at 2 lakh km and that’s it. My services are from Toyota dealerships only. Now, coming to the modifications then on the inside there is a good aftermarket music system with touchscreen and navigation. On the outside, the front bumper is now replaced with a off-roading one and the tyres are AT with stock alloy wheels. There is a 6-inch lift kit and a working snorkel. I have also for an engine remap and it now gets a 40 bhp boost. Most runs are on highways but the off-roading factor is there in Himachal Pradesh. I have also camped in my Fortuner and I am planning to keep this SUV for another few years.
Toyota Fortuner 2.7L Petrol Automatic I live in Delhi NCR which means the NGT bans the diesel vehicles in just 10 years. So I was really not happy with the idea of throwing my hard earned Rs 40 lakh to the disposal after 10 years. So I brought the petrol variant of Fortuner which costed me well under Rs 35 lakh. Also, for petrol the vehicle can be kept for 15 years. Everyone in my friend laughed about buying an SUV and that too a petrol one but I did not have much running. I drive close to 80 km a day on higways and the mileage I get is between 8-10 km/l. It is very low but at least I will keep the car for 5 more years. Also, the refinement is top notch, the automatic is sometimes slow to respond but then I do not push the engine too hard. Till now I have covered about 40,000 km with the SUV and I am happy that I brought a petrol instead of diesel.
Toyota Fortuner 2012 Facelift 4X2 Diesel Manual Hello, this is my review of the second hand fortuner which is purchased in 2018. When I purchased the car then it had a run of 1 lakh km and was available at Rs 12 lakh only. After a lot of bargaining with the owner the final price came out to be Rs 11.40 lakh and I got the delivery of the SUV. After about two years, I have covered an additional 80,000 km as my mostly run was on higways by my driver and me. The SUV still delivers a mileage of 10-12 km/l and we both drive it at a light foot and not more than 90 km/h. This is a 4x2 mode as I was looking for a SUV that will do my highways runs because of the kind of business I have. The only major problem I got the malfunction of the AC when the AC stopped working and we had to cover 600km of distance in the heat. That was a first since Toyota’s are said to be refined. Upon reaching the service centre, my SUV had to be taken for 10 days and they said they had to replace the AC unit. I opted for the aftermarket service as it was much cheaper and till now it is giving me wonderful results. Overall, I am quite happy with the SUV and the conditions I drive on.
