Kia Seltos - Dimension and Design

First, let's talk about the way they look, and the biggest difference is that the new one has become a bigger car. After all, it is built on a new platform (K3), so its length, width, and overall area have grown, which results in more cabin space and better road presence. In fact, it has the segment-best wheelbase of 2690 mm. The outgoing Seltos was never short in providing good space or the cool factor; it's just that Kia wants to make it look even more tempting. Now, let's compare the dimensions of both:
| Kia Seltos | 2nd Gen | 1st Gen |
| Length | 4460 mm | 4365 mm |
| Width | 1830 mm | 1800 mm |
| Height | 1635 mm | 1645 mm |
| Wheelbase | 2690 mm | 2610 mm |
From a design point of view, the newer car looks like it's on steroids, as the front fascia has been completely redesigned with a large digital tiger-face grille, ice cube LED headlights, a gunmetal skid plate, and those LED DRLs. Even the rear profile is decorated with connected tail-lights that make it look even wider than it actually is. The outgoing model, too, had an outstanding, youthful design, making it a first choice for youngsters who wanted something dynamic and premium. Now, the reaction of the current owners to the new-generation model will be priceless, as they have more personal opinions attached to it.

Interior
The new Seltos' cabin takes a clear step up in premiumness, combining a wider, roomier interior with a far more tech-forward layout. The highlight is the Command-Centric Trinity Panoramic Display, merging the 12.3-inch touchscreen with a fully digital instrument cluster for a seamless cockpit experience.

Soft-touch materials, dual-tone leatherette upholstery, and 64-color ambient lighting elevate the overall ambience, while convenience features like the 10-way powered driver seat with memory, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, wireless charger, Bose 8-speaker audio, rear sunshades, and multiple USB-C ports make daily usability more comfortable.

Add in ADAS Level-2, a 360-degree camera with Blind View Monitor, Kia Connect with OTA updates, and a panoramic sunroof, and the updated interior clearly delivers a richer blend of luxury, technology, and practicality than before. The outgoing model misses out on the 30-inch Trinity display and the new three-spoke steering wheel; the rest of the features remain largely the same, barring a few additional ADAS functions.
Engine
Seltos continues with same engine options as before, 2 petrol and 1 diesel with familiar transmission options. So, there is a 1.5L MPi Petrol, 1.5l turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel.
| Engine Options | 1.5L MPi | 1.5L T-GDi | 1.5L CRDi |
| Fuel Type | Petrol | Petrol | Diesel |
| Power | 115 PS | 160 PS | 116 PS |
| Torque | 144 Nm | 253 Nm | 250 Nm |
| Gearbox | 6MT/ IVT | 6iMT / 7DCT | 6MT/6AT |
Verdict
The new Seltos builds meaningfully on the strengths of the outgoing model, offering a larger footprint, sharper design, and a far more premium, tech-rich cabin. The addition of the 30-inch Trinity display, upgraded ADAS suite, and enhanced comfort features positions it as a more modern and desirable package. While the earlier Seltos was already well-equipped, the new generation clearly feels more sophisticated and future-ready, making it a compelling upgrade for both existing owners and new buyers.
