Mercedes-Benz V-Class

The V-Class has long been a celebrity favourite, with almost every thespian travelling in one. So, bringing Hindi film personalities like Saif Ali Khan and Gauri Khan to the event felt justified. That said, the V-Class is a star in itself. It now features hundreds of little Mercedes stars embedded in the grille, along with a giant one at the centre, giving it an imposing front look.
The shape of the LED headlights hasn't changed, but the internal components - now with a more visible dual setup - look richer and more premium. Beyond that, there isn't much that's new. Slim chrome strips are visible from all angles, and they never feel excessive. Instead, they add to its pristine and regal appearance.

Talking about the left profile, it's loooong, as this is the extended wheelbase version, measuring 5,370 mm in length. For reference, its direct rival, the Toyota Vellfire, measures 5,005 mm, while the electric limousine, the MG M9, is 5,270 mm long. This makes the V-Class the longest van currently on sale in the country. That length is both an advantage and a drawback. While it enhances road presence and cabin space, it also means it will take more effort to turn and park, so drivers will need to level up their skills.

Mercedes-Benz hasn't played around much with the rear profile, which is actually a smart move, as it didn't need any extra glam. However, the internal design of the tail-lamps is new, and they look more radiant than before. Before wrapping up the exterior, it rides on 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels that perfectly match the overall aesthetics of this yacht-like machine. Now, coming to the interior - it is simply unbelievable. The legroom for the owners is unlike anything youd find in a typical car. One could literally place a small study table between the seats; it's just incredibly spacious.

Lastly, we believe this is going to have a significant impact on the sales of the Toyota Vellfire and the Lexus LM350h. The pricing is competitive, it offers the sheer size and presence buyers in this segment desire, and above all - it carries the Mercedes-Benz badge.

Verdict
The Mercedes-Benz V-Class re-enters India as a true luxury mover with commanding road presence, unmatched cabin space, and premium appeal. Its extended length enhances comfort and exclusivity, though it does demand careful maneuvering in tight urban spaces. For buyers seeking a chauffeur-driven, ultra-spacious luxury van with strong brand value, this stands out as one of the most compelling options in the segment.
