Nissan India has announced the launch of an all-new sub-4m SUV in the Indian market for 2020. It will be a compact SUV that will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, and the Hyundai Venue. The all-new SUV is expected to be based on the Renault HBC concept version.
Currently, Nissan offers two SUVs in the Indian market - the Terrano and the Kicks. However, both the vehicles are not doing very well in the market. It should be noted that the popularity of the SUVs is growing in the Indian market and manufacturers are launching new products every other month.

2020 Nissan sub-4m SUV will further increase the competition in the segment, that saw the launch of the all-new Hyundai Venue and the Mahindra XUV300. The details are not clear but as per the official statement, the car is expected to be launched by the end of 2020.
The sub-4m compact SUV segment is currently one of the fastest-growing segment and even manufacturers like Kia are planning to launch all-new products. Kia recently announced the unveiling of the Sonet SUV, which will be launched in the same segment.
Other than that, the new vehicle will utilise the CMF-A platform of the Renault Triber. Since the vehicle has not been spotted testing in India yet, the launch can be a few months away. We can safely assume that the all-new car will be launched by the end of this year or during the festive season.
The brand is currently developing the all-new vehicle and there will be at least one launch from the manufacturer in the coming years as well.
Nissan has remained tight-lipped about the launch of the all-new car but it is expected to be powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Also, the vehicle will not get any diesel engine option. Nissan's upcoming vehicle will also face a challenge from the upcoming Renault HBC that will be launched in the market later this year.
Since Nissan will not participate at the 2020 Auto Expo, the manufacturer is expected to unveil the pre-production version of the car in the coming weeks. The car will get a very aggressive price tag and the base model can be priced at around Rs 6 lakhs.
