The Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid has arrived at Rs 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom), becoming one of the first (relatively) neo-retro motorcycles to come equipped with a micro-hybrid system, similar to the FZ-S FI Hybrid that was also launched not too long ago.

2025 Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid Details

On first impressions, the FZ-X Hybrid does not look that much different from the current model, as it retains the same neo-retro design which has been around for nearly 3-4 years now. However, the Hybrid comes with a new Matte Titan paint scheme.

The 149cc, single-cylinder powertrain also continues to make its presence felt, and while the motorcycle now comes with battery-assisted acceleration, the power and torque figures remain unchanged from the regular FZ-X. The bike continues to produce 12.2bhp at 7250rpm and 13.3Nm of torque at 5500rpm. However, Yamaha has now added the Starter Motor Generator (SMG) tech for silent self starts, along with start-stop technology.

In tetms of features, Yamaha has now added in a 4.2-inch TFT instrument cluster smartphone connectivity via the Y-Connect app, along with Google Maps-integrated turn-by-turn navigation, and other things such as single-channel ABS and traction control have already been on offer.
Despite the addition of the FZ-X Hybrid, Yamaha will continue to offer the regular FZ-X as well, which can be had from Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom), and while it comes with two new paint schemes, it misses out on the connectivity bits.
Verdict
The FZ-X Hybrid remains very familiar to the regular FZ-X that has already been on offer for a long time. In fact, it might just feel too familiar, since the bike has not changed majorly in terms of design or performance.
