Aprilia first showcased the SXR 160 scooter at the 2020 Auto Expo. A few months later, Aprilia is gearing up to start the production of the SXR 160 in its Baramati plant whereas launch is expected in December. Aprilia seeks to target a new set of audience with the SXR 160 and plans to open new dealerships.
Aprilia SXR 160 will take the league of performance scooters ahead in India. Aprilia SXR 160 is designed in Italy specifically for the Indian market and targets at a younger audience. The design of the Aprilia SXR 160 is very unique and stylish - thanks to the twin-[ot LED headlights mounted lower on the front. As the SXR 160 is a maxi-scooter, it gets tall handlebar and extended wind visor. All the lighting on the SXR 160 are LEDs including turn indicators.

Aprilia has engineered the SXR 160 for the urban lifestyle, it comes with a long and wide seat draped in leather which provides good comfort and adequate height. The extended handlebar adds to the comfort and convenience factor and the feather-touch controls are easy to access too. The scooter is equipped with a large 210 cm sq. multifunctional all-digital cluster that hosts multiple features. Customers can opt for the mobile connectivity accessory which connects the users mobile to the scooter and helps them in locating it, raising security alarm when needed, and if necessary, even immobilizing it.
Aprilia has not confirmed the exact power figures of the SXR 160. It will come powered by a 160cc 3-valve fuel-injected motor and offer great performance. Suspension duties are taken off by telescopic forks at the front and adjustable shock absorber at the rear. The SXR 160 also comes equipped with dual ventilated disc brakes and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS).

Piaggio India has already established a network of 250 dealerships and aims to increase the network to 400+ dealerships across India. The production of the Aprilia SXR 160 will commence soon whereas the launch is slated for December. The pricing of the SXR 160 is not known and once launched, it will have no direct competition in our market.
