In challenging times, it's been tough for carmakers to contain the costs and make good profits. The diminishing value of Rupee and rising input costs are the reason for the price hike from Audi India. India is a big market for Audi and the German marque was leading the segment sometime back the diesel range of offerings. Of late, thanks to the stringent BS6 norms, most of the carmakers are shunned away from diesel and the entire VW group - including Audi - is only offering petrol-powered cars.

Mr Balbir Singh Dhillon, head of Audi India said, "At Audi India, we strive to give our customers the best, but the rising inputs costs and currency fluctuations have put a strain on our cost structures and we are forced to make amends to prices. Starting January 01, 2021, our model range will see a price revision of up to 2%. While we have tried to absorb the impact at various levels, the current situation necessitates an increase in price for sustainable growth."

Audi India is said to believe in improving the customer experience. Audi India launched the Q2 with the Peace of Mind package which includes 5 years of roadside assistance, 2+3 years of extended warranty and 5 years of the service package. To make the premium SUV range more accessible, we also saw the launch of the Q8 which was offered with a big price cut without many features being compromised.
