
October 2020 has been a fantastic month for the Indian Automotive Sector. This month, all the mass-market carmakers have registered positive month-on-month (MoM) growth in terms of sales. Also, almost all of them have registered positive year-on-year growth (YoY) too. After several months, the Indian Automotive Industry has received such great response, all thanks to the festive season, new launches, discounts, offers and more. Today, we list for you the figures of the Car Sales of October 2020 in the Indian market.
Car Sales October 2020
Maruti Suzuki

Maruti Suzuki is the largest car manufacturer in India. This Indo-Japanese carmaker always tops the sales chart and in October this year, the company has set a new record. Maruti Suzuki has sold 1,63,656 vehicles in October 2020 and this is the highest-ever number achieved by any carmaker in a single month in India. The carmaker has posted 17.64 per cent YoY growth and 10.64 per cent MoM growth. Maruti Suzuki sells several cars in India ranging from Alto 800, WagonR, Swift, Baleno to Vitara Brezza, XL6, etc.
Hyundai

As always following Maruti Suzuki, next, we have Hyundai. Hyundai has registered massive growth in sales and in October, the company has sold 56,605 vehicles. This is the highest sales figure ever achieved by Hyundai in a single month in India. The company has registered 13.19 per cent YoY growth and 12.51 per cent MoM growth. Hyundai sells several cars in India ranging from small hatchbacks to big SUVs. Hyundai is also known as the UV-king of India as it has great dominance in the utility vehicle segment. Thanks to the new Creta, Venue, Verna and Grand i10 Nios, its sales are improving every month.
Tata Motors

Tata Motors is enjoying a good 2020 as the Indian carmaker is registering a massive growth in sales. In October 2020, Tata Motors sold 23,600 units of vehicles. The company has registered a massive 79.21 per cent YoY growth and that's a commendable job and really worth appreciating. Also, Tata Motors has registered 11.32 per cent MoM growth. The Indian portfolio of Tata Motors includes Tiago, Tigor, Nexon, Altroz and the Harrier SUV. The company will soon launch the BS6-compliant Hexa too.
Kia Motors

Kia Motors is one of the most successful car manufacturers of recent times. The Kia Seltos was launched in August 2019 and it set the sales chart on fire. The recently launched Kia Sonet has also received a phenomenal response. In October 2020, Kia Motors sold 21,021 units of vehicles and it is its highest-ever sales figure in the Indian market. This South Korean carmaker has registered a massive 63.54 per cent YoY growth and 12.56 per cent MoM growth. Kia Motors has currently three cars in its Indian portfolio - Sonet, Seltos and Carnival.
Mahindra

India's Largest Utility Vehicle manufacturer - Mahindra has sold a total of 18,622 units of vehicles in India in the month of October 2020. The Indian UV-maker has registered a YoY growth of 0.88 per cent while it has clocked a solid MoM growth of 25.34 per cent. Mahindra has a lot of utility vehicles in its portfolio ranging from the recently launched Thar, XUV 300, XUV 500, Marazzo to the flagship Alturas G4 SUV. The company will also soon launch the BS6-compliant versions of the TUV 300, TUV 300 Plus, etc.
Toyota

Toyota Kirloskar Motors have a registered solid MoM growth and good YoY growth in the month of October 2020. Last month, the Japanese carmaker sold 12,373 units of vehicles in the Indian market. This has resulted in a solid MoM growth of 52.45 per cent while the company has registered a YoY growth of 4.27 per cent. Toyota's Indian portfolio has a lot of cars and sport utility vehicles (SUVs) which include Glanza, Yaris, Urban Cruiser, Innova Crysta and Fortuner.
Renault

Renault India has also registered very good sales growth in the month of October 2020. Last month, the French carmaker sold 11,005 units of vehicles in the Indian market. Renault India has registered a solid MoM growth of 24.99 per cent. However, the company has registered a de-growth of 4.4 per cent. Renault's Indian portfolio currently includes Kwid, Triber and Duster.
Honda

Honda Cars India has launched several new cars in the Indian market this year. Thanks to the new products, Honda has registered very good response in the Indian market last month. Honda has sold 10,836 units of vehicles in the Indian market in October 2020. The company has registered 8.25 per cent of YoY growth and 6.25 per cent of MoM growth. Honda's Indian car portfolio includes City, Jazz, WR-V, Amaze, Civic and CR-V.

Ford

Ford India has sold 7,084 units of vehicles in the Indian market in October 2020. The American carmaker has registered 0.95 per cent of YoY growth and the MoM growth stands at a very respectable 22.88 per cent. Ford is known for making some great cars and the company's Indian portfolio currently includes Figo, Freestyle, Aspire, EcoSport and Endeavour.
MG Motors

MG Motors is a new carmaker in India but the company is performing really very well. October 2020 has been so far the best month for the company in terms of sales. Last month, the company sold 3,750 units of vehicles in the Indian market. This translates to a 6.05 per cent of YoY growth and a whopping 47.81 per cent of MoM growth. MG Motors' Indian portfolio currently includes Hector, Hector Plus, ZS EV and Gloster SUV.
Volkswagen

Volkswagen is among very few carmakers that registered de-growth in the Indian market last month. The German car manufacturer sold 2,054 units of vehicles in the Indian market in October 2020. The company has registered 36.07 per cent of YoY de-growth and 0.20 per cent of MoM growth. VW's Indian portfolio currently includes Polo, Vento, T-Roc and Tiguan AllSpace.
Skoda

Skoda India has so far enjoyed a happy 2020, all thanks to its new product launches. The Czech car manufacturer has sold 1,421 units of vehicles in the Indian market in October 2020. The company has registered 3.12 per cent of YoY growth and a healthy 8.31 per cent of MoM growth. Skoda's Indian portfolio currently has only a limited number of cars which include Rapid TSI, Superb, Karoq and Octavia RS245. The carmaker will soon also launch the new Octavia and BS6-compliant Kodiaq in the Indian market.
Nissan

Next, we have Nissan in our listicle. This Japanese car manufacturer has sold 983 units of vehicles in the Indian market in October 2020. The car manufacturer has registered 37.82 per cent of YoY de-growth and a healthy MoM growth of 26.03 per cent. Nissan has a very limited number of cars on sale in India. The company's Indian portfolio currently includes only Kicks and GT-R. Nissan will soon launch the Magnite compact SUV too in India.
Fiat (Jeep)

Finally, we have Fiat India or rather say Jeep India in our listicle. Jeep India has sold 832 units of vehicles in the Indian market in October 2020. This American car manufacturer has registered a very solid MoM growth. Jeep India has registered a whopping 50.18 per cent of MoM growth and 2.58 per cent of de-growth last month. Jeep also has a very limited portfolio in India. The company's Indian portfolio includes Jeep Compass, Compass Trailhawk and the hard-core off-roader Wrangler SUV.
