
The novel Coronavirus which originally originated in Wuhan, China back in December 2019, is now fast spreading its tentacles across the world. This modern-day catastrophe has created a lot of havoc in India too with more than 10,000 confirmed cases and 350+ fatalities reported so far. Everyone is trying their bit to fight against this deadly virus and India's Largest two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp came with a unique concept towards this move and it is an idea of a mini Hero MotoCorp Ambulance.

Hero MotoCorp has announced that as a part of its ongoing initiatives towards the COVID-19 relief efforts, the home-grown bike manufacturer will be donating 60 first responder mobile ambulances to the authorities. These unique and utilitarian mobile ambulances will be useful for reaching out to patients in rural and remote areas and comfortably moving them to the nearest hospitals.
These unique Hero MotoCorp Ambulances have been custom-built around the Hero Xtreme 200R along with other 150cc+ Hero motorcycles and the side-car fitted in it can accommodate a patient in sleeping position. These Hero MotoCorp Ambulances are equipped with a lot of accessories which includes a sleeping arrangement for the victim along with essential medical equipment such as a first-aid kit, oxygen cylinder, fire extinguisher and siren.

The bikemaker said that these mobile Hero MotoCorp Ambulances will be handed over to authorities in multiple regions across India. The Hero Group has also committed a corpus of Rs. 100 Crores (14 million US Dollars) as an aid for the ongoing COVID-19 relief-efforts in India. It has announced that half of this sum, i.e. Rs. 50 Crores will be contributed to the PM-Cares Fund and the remaining Rs. 50 crores are being spent on other relief efforts.

Moreover, Hero Group also runs the BML Munjal University at Dharuhera in the state of Haryana and it has offered its hostel, which consists of a 2000-bed facility, for use as isolation and treatment ward by the local health department. Hero MotoCorp is also helping the daily-wage labourers and homeless families in several areas of Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat by distributing more than 15,000 meals to them every day.
