Hero Electric and Charzer to set up 1 lakh Electric Stations Across India

Hero Electric and Bengaluru-based startup Charzer will collaborate to launch 1.00 lakh electric charging stations over the next 3 years.

Indias largest and oldest electric two-wheeler company Hero Electric has joined hands with Bengaluru-based start-up, Charzer to install as many electric charging stations. As part of this joint venture, 30,000 charging stations will be installed in 30 cities in the first fiscal year. Then eventually, over a period of three years, this number will increase to 100,000 stations pan-India. Charzer will also provide a mobile application and a website for EV owners to locate the nearest charging stations for feasibility.

Hero Electric has been pretty relevant in the EV category with several offerings. They already have four electric scooters currently in production. This includes the Photon, Nyx,  Flash, and Atria. In the coming years, Hero Electric will launch five more electric scooters. So, it is quite evident that a good EV charging station infrastructure is required for the success of these upcoming electric scooters.

As far as the collaboration goes, Mr. Sohinder Gill, CEO of Hero Electric has stated that This association will aid the EV growth and provide a seamless charging experience to customers by integrating charging slot booking and payment with chargers deployed by Charzer. Further adding to the quote, Mr. Gill has also assured that they are working rigorously to scale up the charging infrastructure. Through this partnership, we aim to strengthen the thrust towards EVs and promote a cleaner and greener mobility solution.

The co-founder of Charzer, Mr. Sameer Ranjan Jaiswal, has given us a glimpse of how they plan to expand. He says, We are collectively building an extensive network of charging stations at Kirana stores, apartments, offices, and malls for easy accessibility. Aside from the fact, that Charzer is quite excited about this joint venture, Mr. Jaiswal has further exclaimed that this is a giant leap towards a greener and more sustainable future for electric mobility
