Mahindra looks to be testing a brand-new small SUV. This Mahindra compact SUV's test prototype was just recently observed going through initial testing. There are rumors that this could be the XUV100 SUV, whose moniker the company registered for the trademark last year. If the test prototype does truly represent the XUV100 small SUV, it will compete with rivals like the Tata Punch and the soon-to-be-released Hyundai Exter small SUV. Mahindra Small SUV Spotted
The freshly seen car appears to be smaller than the XUV300, possibly pointing to a new SUV that the manufacturer plans to release in place of the KUV100 SUV. The prototype's distinctive design elements were totally hidden by camouflage. The test mule was notable for having temporary headlamps and taillamps. Its exterior design featured a roof spoiler, a recognisable front profile and a large rear bumper with a number plate hole in the centre.
Although the interior of the SUV has not been revealed, it is anticipated to boast a feature-packed cabin with ample space, considering the size of the test mule. Expectations include modern features like a touchscreen infotainment system, digital display, automatic climate control, and other amenities.
When considering the engine specifications, there is a possibility that it could be equipped with a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine. Currently, the brand has not made any official statements regarding the progress of replacing the KUV100. However, by examining the moniker registered by the brand last year, it can be inferred that this compact SUV might be positioned below the XUV300 SUV in the brand's lineup.

Verdict: The recent spotting gives speculation about the brand's upcoming rival for the small SUVs in India primarily the Tata Punch and the upcoming Hyundai Exter. If this is the XUV100, we can expect to launch in 2024.
