OEMs often announce recalls for some batch of cars which may have a defective part or equipment. Maruti also recalls a lot of cars as they sell the most number of cars in the Indian market. Now, Maruti Suzuki has announced a recall of over 1.34 lakh cars which are Wagon-R 1.0 and Baleno petrol.
Maruti Suzuki has announced a recall of 56,663 units of the Wagon-R manufactured between November 15th 2018 and October 15th 2019 and 78,222 units of the Baleno petrol manufactured between January 8th 2019 and November 4th 2019. The main reason for the recall is said to be the defective fuel pump in the Maruti Wagon-R and Baleno Petrol. If the fuel pump of your car is defective, Maruti will contact you and get it replaced free of cost from your nearest Maruti Suzuki dealership.

Maruti Suzuki will contact the owner of the cars which may have the defect. But if you want to be reassured, you can check yourself from Maruti Suzuki and Nexa website. To check whether your car is under the recall or not, go to Imp Customer Info section which you will find on both Arena and Nexa websites, fill in your details and car's chassis number. You can find the chassis number on either your registration documents or behind your car's engine.
Both the Wagon-R and Baleno are among the most selling cars in India and both the cars are always in the top 10 sales list. Maruti also recalled the Wagon-R sometime back for the same issue. Recalls are a part of the manufacturing and are important. Avoiding recalls can be vulnerable for the owner of the car and the defected part can harm your vehicle. All the OEMs replace the defected part free of cost.
