MG Motor (Morris Garages) India has appointed Udit Malhotra as the new Marketing Head. The structural update took place earlier this week and though Malhotra was unofficially handling this important role for almost a year now, the official announcement comes just months before the company is set to launch its third offering for India, the Hector Plus. Prior to Malhotra, MG India's Marketing Head was Pallavi Singh who is now at BMW India as the Marketing Director.

Malhotra has been working at MG Motor since November 2017 as the Head of Digital Marketing & Content Strategy. He has been the brains behind numerous campaigns that were run successfully to bring the brand name closer to Indian even when the company did not have a single showroom in India. In addition to the 'World of MG' and #MGChangeMakers campaigns, Malhotra himself led the content for award-winning 'ItsAHumanthing' and #ChangeWhatYouCan campaigns.

As MG India's Marketing Head now, Malhotra will play a key role in marketing MG's upcoming products for India that also include their luxury SUV, the Gloster. MG Motor is part of the bigger SAIC Motor Corp which is currently ranked 35th in the Fortuner 500 Global Brands list.

Prior to MG India, Malhotra was working with Genesis Burson-Maretellers for over five years handling various accounts including that of Ford India. In the earlier days of his career, Malhotra worked at Dell India and Infotel Solutions as well. At a young age of only 30, he is India's youngest Marketing Head in the automotive industry. Malhotra always comes across as an approachable and smiling gentleman and has been an avid follower of SGI (Soka Gakkai International) for the past 16 years. SGI is a worldwide Buddhist network that is fast catching up in India as well. Best wishes to Mr. Malhotra from the entire UTM team for his new official role.
